About this mod

Gets rid of the unsettling little windows flash when disabling the SMainMenuMovieIntro variable in the ini.

Permissions and credits
This file is meant for those that are not running the more elaborate, Oblivion iv logo and Map Loop Replacer mods. This is for those who have replaced their Map Loop file with something a little more performance friendly.

Not long ago, I downloaded a main menu replacer that I enjoyed. What I didn't enjoy was how the main menu movie intro (that slow plummeting of the word Oblivion that is eventually replaced with the main menu) clashed with my new replacer. I decided to disable this in the ini by removing the entry for the SMainMenuMovieIntro variable. This got rid of the little Oblivion intro to my new main menu, but also produced a quick, unnerving windows flash around my screen before finally settling on my replacer. Personally, I did not like this, so I started to look for a solution. After clunking around in the video directory, some web searching, and some rad binking I came up with this little fix. All this does is replace the original Oblivion iv logo.bik, with a four second black screen version of this same file. This worked pretty well with the combination of menu replacer, and title music (which will begin playing during this mods blank intro) that I chose for my build.

Now, I realize that there are many modders that know how to do this without batting an eyelash... but, there are many of you who probably don't. So, this file is for you.

--!!BEFORE YOU INSTALL!!--

Make a backup copy of your Oblivion iv logo.bik which can be found in your Oblivion\Data\Video directory on whatever drive you have it installed on. This is usually something like C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Video. You may have it in Program Files (x86) on some PCs, then again, you may have the know-how to put the dang game where you want it. If you're using a Steam version of the game then it should be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Oblivion\Data\Video, or some very similar place...

--Installation--

Simply download this file, and extract it to your Oblivion\Data directory, merge and replace when prompted. Easy peasy. If you don't know how to do this, than search for 7zip with your web browser, download that software, and learn how to use it. It's a head saver. If you read this and are still scratching your dome, than I don't know what to tell you. If by some chance you are capable of leaving a well worded post asking for assistance on the matter, I may be willing to help you out, but I make no promises. Honestly, a few minutes surfing the internet will give you the answers you seek.
