About this mod

Were you disappointed by the temperate European forests of Cyrodiil? Experience the province as it was meant to be seen. Thick rainforests in the Heartland, dark swampy jungles to the south, Mediterranean coasts to the west, and Himalayan mountains to the north.

Most is Endless Jungle

A Lore based Environmental Overhaul

Cyrodiil, Dragon Empire, Starry Heart of Nirn, and Seat of Sundered Kings... Indeed, if the history of the Nords is the history of humans on Tamriel, then Cyrodiil is the throne from which they will decide their destiny. It is the largest region of the continent, and most is endless jungle. Its center, the grassland of the Nibenay Valley, is enclosed by an equatorial rain forest and broken up by rivers. As one travels south along these rivers, the more subtropical it becomes, until finally the land gives way to the swamps of Argonia and the placid waters of the Topal Bay. The elevation rises gradually to the west and sharply to the north. Between its western coast and its central valley there are all manner of deciduous forest and mangroves, becoming sparser towards the ocean. The western coast is a wet-dry area, and from Rihad border to Anvil to the northernmost Valenwood villages forest fires are common in summer. There are a few major roads to the west, river paths to the north, and even a canopy tunnel to the Velothi Mountains, but most of Cyrodiil is a river-based society surrounded by jungle.

RECOMMENDED MODS TO USE WITH THIS:

Better Imperial City Textures
Mossy Ayleid Ruins
Jungle Ambience
Tibetan Bruma
As well as Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul and the Oblivion Character Overhaul for gameplay changes

Were you disappointed by the temperate European forests of Cyrodiil? Experience the province as it was meant to be seen. Thick steamy rainforests dominate the Heartland. Dark, swampy, muddy jungles surround Leyawiin. The Colovian west has become a dry scrubland, reminiscent of north Africa and the Mediterranean. Bruma has become a Tibetan village, surrounded by colorful snowy forests.

Most of this mod uses edited versions of other modder's resources. I'd like to give credit where credit is due, so thanks largely to Elbethien and Brittainy. I mostly used their textures and models to make this, and made excessive edits to Brittainy's Palm.esp to make it more compatible with popular mods.

In my own personal set-up, I had also added textures from Cheydinhal Pet Shop by Proudfoot, Better Imperial City Textures by Samadchaz, and Mossy Ayleid Ruins by Evercharmer. I tried getting their permission to use their textures in this compilation too, but seeing as how Proudfoot hasn't had activity in well over a year, I simply left those textures out. I would highly recommend getting Better imperial City Textures and Mossy Ayleid Ruins if you can though, because they work exceptionally well with this mod. Also be sure to get Elbethien's Ambient Jungle noises, as they go extremely well with this setup.

This modification isn't to say anything negative of either Elbethien's or Brittainy's work, but I've been personally searching for a way to restore Cyrodiil to as close to it's lore description as possible, and their work has made a huge leap forward in attaining that goal.

Installing it is simple enough. Simply drag the files into data and run TES4LODGEN. Make sure archiveinvalidation is enabled. I've also added loading screens for anyone interested in having some screens that fit the mod better.

Most of it is specifically tailored to work with vanilla textures and models, so it's a good idea not to install this on top of anything that makes drastic changes to certain tree/landscape textures/models. I'm not sure how it will work if you install it over qarl. It might look nice, hell, I don't know, just keep in mind that if you do try to do this, it's meant to be installed on TOP of any existing texture mods you have. In other words, always install this last.

According to Nexus user zexen, the unique landscapes of Fallenleaf Everglade, the Heath, Brena River Valley, Lush Woodlands, Ancient Redwoods, Cheydinhal Falls, Colovian Highlands, Chorrol Hinterland, Arrius Creek, Cloudtop Mountains, Aspen Wood, and Ancient Yews seem to work with zero conflicts. Skingrad Outskirts works as well, but the Camoran Paradise models used in it can be a little jarring.

EDIT: It's been a while. v1.2 of the mod is released. It's nothing big or flashy, mostly just smaller subtle changes to make the mod more effective and visually appealing. I don't plan on making the Palms.esp compatible with city mods, and for that I apologize. It's just simply not worth the personal effort of doing so, as I have other projects I'd prefer to be focusing my energy on. If you prefer, elbethien's updated Palm.esp works with this mod, though palm trees will show up in snowy Bruma if that's alright with you.

EDIT 2: I've now updated the mod to 1.4. In this new version you'll see greater variety in foliage and more color tweaks. Please let me know what you guys think and I hope to see more photos from you guys to see how it looks on your set-up!

EDIT 3: The mod is now at 1.5. I've made the Colovian Highlands more aesthetically pleasing and I've also removed the Seaweed since it was fond of poking out of the water, looking quite a bit odd to see random bits of pink coral sticking out of rivers and the like.

EDIT 4: Made a minor update to the tree billboards to make them look nicer and more natural
