Details
=======
This mod was suggested by an online Oblivion diary which I came across but have unfortunately lost the URL for. The writer commented that she had to pretend that she needed to find someone to remove the wrist irons that you start the game with, and observed that surely the guards would notice them and arrest you -- and when they arrested you, they would find the Amulet of Kings and then kill you.
In this mod, you don't have to pretend! You find yourself with a set of red shackles that you cannot remove and that the guards recognize as a sign that you are a very dangerous escaped prisoner. If you want to survive, you have to find someone to remove them, without getting nabbed and killed by the guards.
The quest is very simple since your character will be low-level. Pay attention to the dialog and you should not have much difficulty as long as you can avoid the guards.
This mod can be installed at any time before the "Shadow Over Hackdirt" quest begins, but it really only makes sense in my view to install it when you start a new game.

IMPORTANT ADDED INFORMATION
----------------------------------------

If you have not exited the sewers, or you have managed to remove the shackles, then you can simply uninstall the mod as below.

However, if you are outside the sewers and are wearing the shackles, you need to take an extra step to remove the bounty (1000) and infamy which the shackles added.

If you have not yet uninstalled the mod
..............................................
Press the tilde key ~ to get into the console
Type "setstage IRSmainQUEST 110" without the quotes and press [return], then tilde ~ again.
Wait a few seconds and confirm that the bounty is gone, then save, exit, and uninstall the mod.

If you have already uninstalled the mod
..............................................
If you uninstalled the mod and found yourself stuck with the bounty because I stupidly forgot to give these instructions, all is not lost.

Press the tilde key ~ to get into the console
Type "player.modcrimegold -1000" without the quotes and press [return].  This removes the bounty.
Type "ModPCMiscStat 4 -1000" without the quotes and press [return].  This removes the largest bounty.
Type "setPCinfamy 0" without the quotes and press [return].  This removes the infamy point.
Type tilde ~ again.
Save, exit, and uninstall the mod.

Incompatibility
===============
I know of no incompatibilities. The mod creates the shackles, one NPC, and one vendor chest. Otherwise, it works exclusively via dialog.
Known Issues or Bugs
====================
The regular guards recognize you as an escaped prisoner on sight while you wear the red shackles. Guards added by other mods, e.g., Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul, may or may not recognize you.
This is my first mod, so there may be other issues that I did not find.
