Here is Tara Nightshade for you.

She once whas happily married to Andor. And they did run a small trading post north of Cheydinhal.
But one day when Tara whas visiting an old friend, the trading post where attacked by some bandits and Andor got killed in the process.

When Tara returned and discovered what have happend. She sunk into a long and deep depression. Over a year later her depression suddenly turned into a red hot hate and anger. She just packed her bags and walked away, leaving everything else behind.

She found an old retired soldier of the Blade order, who after some persuation agreed on training her in weaponry and combat tactics. He also taught her how to live of what the wilderness have to offer.

After finishing her training she began the search for the men who had ruined her life.

She have'nt found them yet. But have buildt up a reputation of beeing a fierce and grim bounty hunter. The criminals, have given her the nick name "The dark widow" and just dare to wisper her name in their hideouts and around the camp fires.

Her only real friend in life is the black Battle cat Tanto, that she once found injured near a cave. She managed to nurture the cat back to full health. And now they travel around hunting down criminals, monsters and other evil beeings.
