About this mod

This forces the tutorial quest to spam you with updates when you start a new game so you don't get annoyed by them when playing the game later.

Permissions and credits
Have you ever gotten sick of being reminded of how to seduce someone using the speechcraft minigame, or are well aware of the fact that you were just thrown in jail and need to sleep on the bed in order to end your sentence? Maybe that message about mixing ingredients with like effects came back to haunt you because you failed to wait long enough in the alchemy menu to appear back in the Tutorial dungeon. Or perhaps that quickstart mod you installed doesn't realize you are no longer in the Tutorial dungeon.

Well this mod fixes all of this crap so you don't have to deal with constantly being told how to play the game.

Using "Quest Message Popup Removal" with this mod will save you from getting an arm and finger workout.

=================How It Works====================

This modifies the script of the "Tutorial" quest so that you will be spammed with 9 quest updates right after starting a new game. That's "will", not, "will not".

It would have been a lot easier to simply remove these quest stages, but that creates the problem of them coming back with a vengeance should the mod be disabled. Instead, this offers a permanent solution so that those messages will not come back even if you disable this mod afterward. Due to the nature of the game, you cannot undo quest stages, and so those messages will stay in your journal and marked on the day that they were triggered. (I assume that it's hard-coded into the game.)

Be aware though that this mod does NOT complete the quest. If you use a quickstart mod that prevents you from triggering the part of the Tutorial that tells you to pick your class, you might be prevented from completing the quest, and it will stay active in your journal. If you are using such a quickstart mod, you will need to manually trigger one of the two quest stages that ends the quest. (Or you could just leave it active in your quest log if that floats your boat.) But in order to end the quest manually, open up the console by pressing ~ and type the following.

showclassmenu

That shows you the screen where you select your class. Should that fail to trigger the quest, you may need to activate it directly by typing.

setstage mq01 84

========Roleplaying Excuses For Vanilla Start========

Although it wasn't necessarily necessary, I designed the script so that the message spam happens in a particular order in a way that justifies all of those messages. The following could be assumed.

You are dragged kicking and screaming to your cell.

You walk around your cell for a bit.

You talk to the prisoner in the cell across from you.

You mix up a potion by grinding the bones in your cell with the water from the pitcher.

After drinking it, you feel like you can burst from your cell, and so begin punching the walls to the point of injuring yourself.

Realizing that won't work, you shoot fireballs at the walls.

By the time you run out of magicka, you are exhausted.
