About this mod

A sunglare mod that mimics the temporal glare effect seen when the sun is in view.

Realistic Dazzling Sun mimics the effect of temporal glare, adding an extra layer of realism to the game. Temporal glare can be seen when squinting and looking at a bright light source, or in the case of the sun, almost any time it is in the field of view. The effect can be seen as bright spikes of light radiating from the light-source, often with noticeable colour fringes due to interference effects.

This mod mimics temporal glare by adding a high-contrast colour image to the sky-glow. As the sun passes through the sky, the colour fringe effect can be seen as the 'shards of light' pass in-front of near objects (e.g. trees). This updated version is smaller in size, but more realistic than my previous Dazzling Sun mod... which one suits you is a matter of personal taste.

Mod works best in conjunction with the OBGE colour effects (HLSL and SSAO), and complements Godrays well.

IMPORTANT: a slight edit of the oblivion.ini file is required for this mod to work at the right size.

Dazzling Sun only replaces the sun.dds, sunglare.dds and sunglarenonhd.dds files, and as far as I know will only conflict with other sun mods that replace these.
