Update
NOTE WELL:
1.
Uninstall any old Time Spell version then...
Finish whatever and Save before installation because...
The quest kicks straight in and removes you from wherever you were.
2.
Do not COC or COW from anywhere in Sadrith Arcuhn - use the Time Spell or the regular SI portal to go between worlds.
TCL is not recommended whenever inside Tel Nilrethi during the quest.
While I have done reasonable testing there is almost no cheat proofing.
If you find any bug(s) then please post here or message me and I will fix ASAP.
3.
There are NO Autosaves during the quest.
4.
You can customize the music, read the ReadMe.
NEW:
Earning the spell requires completing a short quest.
I am confident a lot of people will retain Athaleon's instructions but he gives you a note for each stage anyway.
There are no quest related compass pointers but there isn't far to walk anyway.
While the Sadrith Arcuhn map has all land marks from the beginning none provide fast travel - that is overcome later.
Time Spell statues replaced with vanilla ones - not only for appearance but it makes this mod non-adult.
Replaced red varla stones with regular.
Night Climate (along with lights) added for each realm.
Added a "Teleport & Autosave" option.
Vanilla Cyrodiil map for orientation.
To compensate for lack of Time Penalty on fast travel you are now penalized by Insanity Points...
For example...
Use+Int+Com == 3
Use+Int+Com+ObReg == 4
Use+Int+Com+ObQst == 7
At 20 points insane you are sent to a randomly selected location to redeem yourself in combat.
Each location respawns on exit but there are urns for shifting your loot.
That loot will remain accessible from Time Spell urns until you next go to a redemption location.
You can manually access each redemption location from the Cyrodiil Time Spell.
Anything in the loot urns is deleted, just as if you'd been automatically sent.
Manual access removes 20 insanity points at up to -15 bonus - you need to be at least 5 points insane to get the full benefit.
Concept
If we are going to have magic for "Fast Traveling" then why get penalised for the time it takes to crawl there by road/paths?
The idea of the Time Spell is that we have a limited number of instantaneous portals and from there we're on foot.
...something like Morrowind Mage Guild travel.

Features
Both:
- 1:100 3d scale maps.
- 2d maps on floor for perspective.
- Original lod meshes for perspective, decimated for performance, semi-opaque texture replacer.
- No alteration to game time. Whether you spend seconds or hours (I doubt it) in the Time Spell then that's your travel time.
- No sandwich time - if you arrive in danger then deal with it.
- Link in from anywhere including danger - your call, I'm not your keeper.
- Doors to each other perform all the functions of the regular ones (except update the menu world map - see issues below).
- Does not change settings or place objects in Oblivion.esm, Oblivion.esp or DLCShiverIsles.esp.
- Uses a spell - it's magic, if you are Silenced then you should have to use a Potion/Scroll (see Shivering Isles below).
- Mostly low poly/res using copies of original and custom lod meshes.
- Return to last location - the exact place you last teleported in from (Cell/World and coordinates).
- Cache last location - save a copy of above for later use.
- Return to cached location - return to the place saved from above.
Note: as you probably guessed, the Return and therefore Cache exclude the Time Spell Cells.
Cyrodiil:
- All towns, castles and stables.
- A number of locations at distances apart of approximately Anvil to Kvatch.
- All IC Districts to avoid redundant screen loads.
- Link straight into castles to avoid redundant screen loads.
- All stables to avoid (leave town) redundant screen loads.
Shivering Isles:
- Portals to most ruins, Palace steps, Crucible, Bliss, Gates of Madness.
- No Pale Pass - sorry but I have not I have not coded for variations of this.
- Custom potion "Dispel, Cure & Resist" available from dispensary, auto-calculated.
- Wizard Ring auto-calculation was 100000 so I've used a log/mercantile equation. Let me know if you think it's wrong/inappropriate.
Issues
- I've only tested with follower Vilja and found no problems. Other followers may not find where you've gone as the portals are not doors.
- Horses can get lost or attacked on arrival. If I remember these are vanilla issues which is why I gave up on horses.
- When going from one 3d map to the other the menu map persists from your last teleport - Cyrodiil or SI.
...this is an interior cell issue. The alternative is to redo them as Worldspaces. That means trying to hide the water and ground mesh for the mod's climate effects. I'm not sure that it's worth the bother.
Installation
I don't use OBMM or BOSS so if somebody would post installation how to for either I'll add it here, thanks.
Nexus Mod Manager.
Install the Time Spell download first.
If asked to replace EnhancedMusicControl select NO.
If using the Extras download select Yes to any Replace prompts.
Manual.
If you can't work it out from extracting the download(s) to wherever then don't do it.
Dependencies
Oblivion 1.2.0.416
Shivering Isles
OBSE v0021 - site http://obse.silverlock.org/ - download http://obse.silverlock.org/download/obse_0021.zip
...could work with earlier OBSE but that's what I used.
Enhanced Music Control (included) - if asked to replace by NMM etc click NO as you already have it.
...that way un-installing the Time Spell won't un-install Enhanced Music Control.
