Crystal Torch by chakaru11

~"May it be a light for you in dark places, when all other lights go out."~

What is this?
----------------
It's a little gift for all the mages and magic-loving adventurers out there:
A small, glowing crystal which works as a fully functional torch. It rotates on it's axis and leaves a trail of blue particles in it's wake.

------------
Location
------------
It's in the Testinghall. In a VERY dark place. Where could that be? AH! The entrance to the creature testinghall! Step through the door and switch to first person mode. You should see a faint blue glow ahead...

But be CAREFUL! What you see there is NOT a container, it's the actual torch. So if you get too close and touch it, it will fall to the floor. So if you want to stare for a while or take a screenshot, hold your breath.

ABOUT:
------------
Awww, I love this one. All my other mods where fun to make, but this one really is a project that I loved working on.
It may be the smallest mod I have ever made (one mesh, one esp, three textures, wtf. Sweet!) but getting it right and balancing it out took a while. First of all: rotating stuff. Flying particles. Whoo.
And then: Wha? Balancing? Why yes. Because this little crystal is not supposed to replace actual torches. It is a last resort when all else fails - see obvious quote at the top of this readme.

So, what does this mean? This little crystal does not need fire or wood, so it will never go out. Since, you know, it's magic. But before you scream "CHEAT ITEM!" - let me finish.

To balance this out, I gave the crystal a faint blue light, reduced the light radius to 368 and gave it a FOV of 90. I also lowered the actual torch light emitter down to the hand, so that the crystal really IS the light source, instead of an invisible torch flame somewhere above it. So the light source is no longer close to the characters head, but lower.

In short: the crystal glows, but it's not strong enough to light up an entire dungeon. You can see what is right in front of you, but that's about it. Still, it should be enough to guide you through dungeons or other dark places.

Since this little thing is another one of my babies, please don't steal it, k?
BUT! I can totally see this being used in quest mods or fantasy settings, so if you want to use it, just let me know where it goes, give credit and we are golden.

To Bethesda for the vanilla torch mesh.
To jgreybear. You don't know who I am and I don't know you, but the torches in your "Ayleid Royal" mod inspired me to make this. They are so pretty!

Sooo, have fun!
