1. Description

*****************************

Gamblers of Cyrodiil:

Adds NPCs to all the main cities that will play chance games with the player. There are two in the Imperial City. Look for them around in plazas, around city

landmarks or at taverns and inns.

They have individual AI schedules, different levels of difficulty and available gold. Once they run out off gold they will go to work at certain times unless

the player donates them money or until they gain their own gold back. However, there is one NPC that has unlimited gold, but is very hard to beat.

Adds the topic to play games with any NPC at a tavern or inn, provided they like you enough and that they have at least ten septims. The gold on these NPCs

is handled by the game itself by leveled lists. So they will get some gold back after the leveled lists reset.

Adds working dice which can be used in dice games.

2. Installation and Playing

*****************************

Simply decompress the zip file into your Oblivion\Data directory.

Then, from the Oblivion Launcher, select Data Files and check
the box next to the Gamblers_Of_Cyrodiil.esp file.

Play!

3. Usage

New NPC schedules:

When the gamblers are out of gold for betting they will start working all days at 8am to 12am. Their preffered jobs are not very intense, if you want to find

them what would a slacker do... Still you can't donate money to them while they are on the job and they won't play either, so no reason to look for them.
After working for a couple of days they get their gold back. They go look for lunch at 12 and hang out in a tavern or inn from 8pm till 4am.

********

The Games:

All the added NPCs have the added topic: "In the mood for a game?"

There is a random chance for the NPC to offer playing any game.

To play all the dice games you need two dice. These can be bought from the gambler Gast who usually hangs around the Talos Plaza in the Imperial City.

They payouts are not unbalancing. Only as high as 10 septims for most NPCs; though some do have the option for higher stakes.
So don't expect to buy full suit of armor only playing chance games! Unless you're really lucky!:p

Most games have random outcomes which are influenced by luck.

****

Game List:

1) Guess How Many Septims
2) Double or Nothing
3) Dice: Blates
4) Dice: Parity
5) Dice: Double Parity

****

1) Guess How Many Septims:
Pretty much what the title suggests. There are two variations of the game. One where the NPCs hide up to five Septims in their hand and another version where

you hide up to five Septims in your hand. The first version depends on your real life luck, meaning there is only one right choice. The second version

depends on the NPCs luck.

The payout is the choice selected, not the actual septims in hand. Meaning if you thought he had 3 septims, you will pay 3 septims and vice versa.

2) Double or Nothing:
Basically a coin flip. Both parties bet 10 septims. Either you or the NPC will get to flip the coin. Whoever doesn't flip the coin calls heads or tails. If

you get a match you get 20 septims. Depends on the caller's luck.

3) Dice: Blates

The game is played with a pair of six-sided dice and centers on various forms of the sum quantity 8. The score is the sum of the two face up values of the

dice. The player with the lowest score wins.

The various forms of the sum 8 have special meaning.

4 and 4 is "Blates", and is worth 0. Certain victory, unless the opponent also rolls Blates.
3 and 5 form a "Gentleman's Eight" which is worth 1, making it the best roll in the game besides Blates.
2 and 6 form a "Pauper's Eight" which is worth 13, making it the worst roll in the game.

It is impossible to actually roll 8 in Blates.

If any players roll the same value in a round, they should take turns rolling against each other until the tie is broken. This is commonly referred to as a

"roll off".

4) Dice: Parity

A 10 Septim bet is made on either an odd or even roll. Player rolls 1 die.

5) Dice: Double Parity

Same as Parity, but two dice are rolled. If a double is rolled the bet is doubled to 20.

********

High Stakes:

Any NPC with a luck higher than 60 will give the option to play games at higher stakes. As far as I know all default NPCs in Oblivion have a luck of 50. So

this should only affect the new gamblers with luck higher than 60 (or any other mod added NPC who has high luck and happens to be hanging in a tavern or inn.

The options are 2x, 3x, 4x and one special gambler has 10x option. These option only show up if both parties can afford the larger transactions.

Me!

Major thanks to the TES CS Wiki for getting my started on this whole modding business... or curses... :)

Major thanks to mmmpld for his Dice mod!!!

5. Known Issues and Compatibility

*****************************

When you are playing dice games make sure you talk again to the NPC you were talking to after rolling the dice. Otherwise you may get the game dialogue from

whoever you talk to first.

Since the OnDrop block does not work with items dropped via script, I have no way to actually make the NPC drop dice that work. That is why NPC's rolls are

simulated on dialogue. Also you must manually srop the needed amount of dice for each game. This allows for "cheating" by manually placing the dice, there is

no way around that as of now.

Should be compatible with all mods since it adds new content and uses unique IDs.

Included Mods:

Dice by mmmpld:
I used a modified version of his mod, so you could still use this one without problems, but there is really no need to use them together. I also removed the

dice from the Good as New shop and gave them to one of my gamblers, to increase compatibility.
