---The Wrath of Akapheri---
A mod for TES4: Oblivion

---What you need to play this mod---
1. Oblivion patched to the latest version
2. A brain

---What this mod can promise---
1. High-quality textures, 1024x or larger
2. Elegant and functional meshes
3. A new set of custom scouting armor
4. A switchable-grip katana the likes of which Tamriel has never seen
5. An amulet containing the grace of the An'ar

---Overview---
Though it has taken me over a year of work (procrastination), I am pleased to present the final chapter in my trilogy of mods, The Wrath of Akapheri.

I extremely recommend playing my previous two mods in the series, The Blades of An'kewan and The Armory of An'sephaer, before playing this. If you don't, most of what is going on will probably be complete gibberish to you.

Get the Blades of An'kewan (v2.2) here -

Get the Armory of An'sephaer (v2.1) here -

Furthermore, this mod is heavily story-reliant, with over 100 pages of in-game text to read, so if that's not your thing it might be best to just turn back now.

For those that are left, this mod tells the story of An'akapheri, a young Jin'po traveler to Tamriel. He goes with his mother and many of his people to Tien'Ashram, the fair city which was founded by An'sephaer, his father. His journey goes horribly astray, however, and as you read his journals you will follow his path through fire and stone to whatever end it takes him. Like the first in the series, The Blades of An'kewan, this mod ends in a riddle which must be solved to find your reward. It is meant to be difficult, so don't go in expecting to open a book and get a quest update pointing your way. You will need to think, observe, and overcome obstacles before the end.

If you need help with the riddle, please do not ask in the comments, or post spoilers there. Contact me by PM with any and all comments regarding the puzzle. Don't spoil it for the other players.

If you manage to finish the quest you will receive armor that I have been piecing together since before this mod was begun, which has been well-tested and remains up to my standards. If it is not obvious from the pictures, the armor is male-only, and made for Robert's body. I don't think it would work with the vanilla body meshes, but you're welcome to give it a go.

I will not and cannot make a female version of the armor, and with that statement I just lost 75% of you. Akapheri was a man, and as such his armor fits the male physique.

Your second reward is the katana of Akapheri, the finest ever made in the history of Mundus. The journals will explain more, but you will have to see it to appreciate its detail. I included a spell which will switch your grip (1H/2H) on the sword depending on your preference, added when you first find the blade.

I will not water down the stats of the sword, though some people are persistant in wanting to beat people with the effectiveness of a length of rebar. If you want a weak sword so desparately, my advice is to fix it yourself. It's not hard.

Your third and final reward is the amulet of the An'ar family, a mighty token to those who find themselves in dark and hostile places. When activated it will grant you great power, but at a cost. I will not say more here for the benefit of mystery, but be sure you can handle its responsibility.

Is it powerful? Yes. Can it be deadly in the wrong situation? Yes. Will I change it for every person who disagrees with it? No.

As a final note, this will be my last mod for Oblivion for the forseeable future, with the advent of Skyrim and all. It's been a long and immensely enjoyable run, but don't hold your breath waiting to see any more mods from me. I will continue to support this and my other mods, however, so don't think I will be unreachable. If you have any comments, questions, or whatever, don't hesitate to contact me. You might just have to send a messenger through the snowy mountain passes of the north to do so, though.

---Installation---
1. Extract the .rar file to your Oblivion folder
2. Check the .esp in OBMM or the Data Files menu in the startup screen (or in whatever other mod loader you use).
3. When you load Oblivion, you will be sent a note from Estelle Renoit at Renoit's Books in Chorrol. From there your journey begins.

---Uninstallation---
1. Uncheck the .esp in OBMM or the Data Files menu in the startup screen (or in whatever other mod loader you use).
2. Delete the .esp and any/all added files from your Oblivion\Data folder

---Compatibility---
This mod should be compatible with everything except other mods which change the interiors of Renoit's Books in Chorrol and Mach-Na's Books in Cheydinhal. Besides that, nothing should pose a problem. When in doubt, however, load this mod after any you are suspicious of.

---Troubleshooting---
Q: What note are you talking about? When I load the mod nothing happens.
A: You will only get the note if you have a fully-made character or if you are not engaged in battle. So go kill whatever is chasing you.

Q: Help, I can't find the artifact(s) the note is talking about!
A: Try loading this mod after any others that edit Renoit's Books in Chorrol or Mach-Na's Books in Cheydinhal. If that doesn't help, try typing "tcl" into the console and fly under whatever the artifact(s) were sitting on. The collision might have gone haywire, leaving your treasures buried beneath immovable objects.

Q: I know where the place is supposed to be, but nothing is there!
A: This would be a troubling problem indeed, but I can't say more without spoiling everything. If you have this problem, send me a PM.

Q: I dont wanna read 100 pages of your dumb story1 give me stuffz naow1!!11
A: Do me and the community a favor and just walk away. This isn't for you.

---History---
1.0 - 11/2/11 - Initial release
1.1 - 11/7/11 - Hopefully fixed the invisible-body armor bug

---Credits---
Well, I seem to have gotten myself into a pickle here. Because I put off the release for so long I lost or forgot most of my mesh sources. So, I am opening up a crowdsourced credits section. If you see something I missed and can prove its ownership, PM me and I will sort it out as fast as possible. No offense to any mesh creators I miss, I greatly appreciate your work, but, well, human error and all that.

1. Petrovich for his Warrior Skin armor, one of my biggest inspirations
2. mbj_mje for his katana models, the backbone of this mod
3. Neovinci for the amulet mesh, part of his NAZCA Armor set
4. Waalx for his eminently useful Realswords textures
5. Phoenix Amon for his useful and moddable bookjacket textures
6. Jojjo for the elbow-armor mesh, from his Armor of the Lich King set
7. Robert2 for the best and only male body model
8. All the folks at NifTools for the best (and only) .nif editor
9. Bethesda for one of the greatest games I have ever played

Most resources listed above were edited from their original form, so if you want the originals go download their respective mods.

PS - The sources I've forgotten that I can think of now are the hand-plates, bracers, pauldrons, leg-coverings, boots, bootstraps, and bootplates/greaves on the armor. If anyone knows who made these (or anything else), don't hesitate to share.

---Contact---
I would love to hear what you think of the mod, so either leave me a comment or PM me here or on the Bethesda forums (here is your best bet). My username on both is Kohdi.
