Mark an NPC (Humanoid or creature) with the spell added to your inventory. A ring should also have been added to your inventory and it will be renamed from "Summon Ring" to "Summon X" where X is the name of the NPC you have cast the spell on. You can now summon this npc anytime you want by equipping the ring. You can also mark a different npc if you want to change the target of the ring.
