About this mod

Experience dark winter as never before; this plugin adds a great island far north, until recently completely isolated from Tamrielic law. Now that the Imperials have arrived and colonized the island, complications with the local Nords are undeniably present and the area’s agitation is tangible.

Experience dark winter as never before; this plugin adds a great island far north, until recently completely isolated from Tamrielic law. Now that the Imperials have arrived and colonized the island, complications with the local Nords are undeniably present and the area’s agitation is tangible.

Thorlak Island's quests are all about moral decisions and every quest has several outcomes depending on your choices throughout them. The most advanced side quests can have more five outcomes. All side- and main quests affect the game behind the scenes and can influence the outcomes of others. The mod currently contains the following features:
-A big and brand new snow island to explore!
-All new NPCs complete with AI!
-All new and exciting side quests complete wih moral decisions!
-New models and textures!
-New creatures to fight!
-Experience a real snow world!
-Much more!

The reason we started working on this project is our unsatisfied expectations of an interesting and engaging snowy region in the Vanilla game. Bruma just didn’t do it – it lacked the magical touch Solstheim had. We are attempting to rectify this by designing Thorlak Island, caring for the smallest details, and have already come a long, long way. The mod has been abandoned and then taken up again but this time, with the announcement of Elder Scrolls V, we have chosen a different model. The mod is quite small right now, including only a few hours of gameplay, but will be updated with extra features throughout the coming months, until the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

The current version of the mod includes a few quests to get to the island, started by going to the Waterfront District and locating The Imperial Navy Office, as well as around four side quests. Future versions will continue to add new features and quests, leading up to you ultimately deciding the fate of Thorlak Island.
