This replaces the Orcrest palm trees with lower poly and optimized meshes, which still look nearly identical in visual quality.

ABOUT


Many users got bad performance when around Orcrest partly due to the really high-polygon palm trees. I've greatly reduced the polygons and optimized the trees. They are now only 20% of the original polygon count. I've also included a less reduced 45% version.

There is almost no visible difference between the originals and mine unless you compare them using screenshots.

Also, the original trees had no collision so you could walk right through the tree trunks! This has been fixed as well.

So pretty much all users of Elsweyr should use this replacer since it will help FPS a bit.

I've also included optimized _far meshes in a seperate folder for people who use RAEVWD Elsweyr.

All meshes ran through PyFFI.

I used 3DSMax2010 and it's built in ProOptimizer tool to do this, if you're curious.


INSTALLATION


Just unpack one of the two reduced versions to your Oblivion\Data folder and let overwrite. The originals are included if you ever want to go back, but why would you ever do that?!?
