Mod Name: DopeyDragon - Witcher Signs and Sword
Purpose: to bring the very cool signs from the Witcher game to Oblivion.
Requirements:
-Oblivion with the latest patch
-JazzJR's new Witcher sword model, found here: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34348
-A huge Thank You to JazzJR for his excellent Silver Sword Mesh, and for providing it as a resource.
Description:
A small new mod adding all of the Witcher signs to Oblivion. The signs are NOT uber cheat spells. Rather they are balanced for fair game play, yet allow for Novice mages to cast them. After all, a Witcher is a warrior first, NOT a mage.
Note: SIGNS WILL EITHER DAMAGE YOUR FATIGUE SLIGHTLY WHEN CAST OR WILL DRAIN IT FOR THE DURATION OF A TIMED EFFECT, SUCH AS HELIOTROP OR QUEN. This will likely not matter to you. However, I play realistic fatigue, so this adds another layer of strategy to using Signs. And it mirrors the Endurance damage from the Witcher game. See spoilers for where to get the signs and sword if you do not want to change this yourself:
Signs are:
-Ard: Touch. Damages fatigue and health slightly. Also knocks the enemy backward with significant (though not ridiculous) force. Great for clearing a tough enemy. DOES NOT WORK ON: Mankar Camoran, Dagon or the Lich King of Miscarcarand, Mannimarco or Enemies with Strength over 75
-Yrden: The "trap spell" will deal a bit of fatigue damage. It will also damage an opponent's health for about 10% of their base. Will stagger opponents, unless they are major bosses or very strong (see above.)
-Igni: Fire on target, 25 points, plus 2 more damage for 5 seconds. Staggers most opponents (same restrictions as above.)
-Axii: Command Humanoid/Creature on touch, 10 seconds. SILENCES YOU FOR 10 SECONDS FOR BALANCE. How else could you maintain this effect, if you start casting others? This is perhaps the most powerful spell in the game in a group fight, now. IMO, you should have to pay a price for it. Also drains fatigue for the duration.
Quen: The "complete shield." Fire, Frost, Shock and Shield (regular) for 100 points, 10 seconds. FOR BALANCE: DRAIN BLADE, BLUNT, BLOCK AND SILENCE ON SELF FOR 10 SECONDS. In the Witcher, Quen shields you completely, until you deal damage. Unfortunately, scripting this - which I doubt is even possible - is a likely a nightmare. For this reason I chose a combination of abilities which I thought reflect the nature and intention of this spell.
Heliotrop: Accordig to the Witcher Wiki, this comes from a short story. Geralt used it to counter a magic spell, though he still felt some of the spell's force. I have chosen: Resist Magic 80% on self. Damage Fatigue about 25 points on self and silence on self, for 10 seconds.
Installation:
1. Get JazzJr's excellent modder's resource for the Silver Sword, here: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34348. THIS IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO AVOID MISSING MESHES WHEN USING THIS MOD.
2. add this mod to your Data folder and activate.
Uninstalling:
If you must, just disable the esp and delete it.
Technical Info AND Spoilers (finding the goods.):
-What was changed to make this mod?
A single interior world cell (dungeon) was altered. No spells, weapons, items, leveled lists, NPC's or creatures were changed IN ANY WAY to make this mod. It adds ONLY NEW CONTENT to the game.
<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>
So where was this change made (in other words where can I find the goods? - SPOILER AHEAD)
A dead witcher can be found in the depths of Fort Horunn, lying next to the chest in the boss chamber. He is carrying:
-An unenchanted sword
-One scroll which trains destruction AND teaches you the spells. IMPORTANT NOTE: To get the signs you MUST READ THE NOTE FROM YOUR INVENTORY.

Credits:
-Once more, JazzJR for his sword.
-CDProjektRED for the Witcher. If you have not played the Witcher check it out. It might be the most immersive world in which I have ever been ensconced while playing an RPG. Graphics, story, immersion, voice acting - the game has it all. Highly recommended.
-Thanks to BG, author of LAME and RBP. The Wiki's tutorials are great tools, for those who learn in a logical, step by step manner. Me, I just find a script similar to one I need and learn from it. BG's mods contain all sorts of fascinating script effects and his tutorials on the Wiki are very helpful as well. So, thanks for the inspiration and the lessons, even if they were not intended as such.
-The Nexus for being here.
-Bethesda for leaving us so much room to create things in their wonderful game.
Permissions (forgot this the first time):
This is a modder's resource. Feel free to include it in your own mods/quests. If the author of Witchers of Tamriel wants to use these as spells/powers/etc please also feel free to do so. No credit needed; all I did was place script effects which the game engine makes possible into unique combos here anyway. Enjoy!
Future Plans:
Probably not going to happen. College keeps me plenty busy. As does real life. I might - and this is a very slight possibility - update to toggle versions of the shielding spells Heliotrop and Quen. When I tested these initially, however, they were more than a little bit overpowered so no promises there.
