MAJOR BUG: THE MANNEQUINS WILL OFTEN DISAPPEAR AND STEAL YOUR STUFF AFTER A FEW DAYS IN GAME. USE THIS MOD AT YOUR OWN RISK AND SAVE OFTEN!

This mod never made it to a final bug-free from. I do not work on or support this mod any longer, I haven't for years, and didn't even realize it still had an entry on this site and that people were still downloading it. I'm leaving it up only because it's all open source/creative commons, so if anyone wants to use parts of the mod for their own stuff, I want to leave it available for reference.

*** 1. Overview

Avelar's Armory and Mannequins provides advanced mannequins with special effects and armor previews, conflict-free integration for AvArm-compliant custom armor mods, and a new shop with vendors for armor, weapon, and quest centralization.

*** 2. Installing the Plug-in

If you are updating from v0.5, save your game in a cell that has no mannequins, then install the new version. You should not need to make any extra preparations, and your existing mannequins should continue to work. The four demo mannequins in Rudy's shop will be reset, so remove any custom items you may have placed on them. This version of the mod packs all resources into a BSA file, so you may delete old resources. Delete any folders named "AvArm" in the Data\Textures, Data\Textures\Menus\Icons, Data\Sound\Voice, and Data\Meshes paths, in your Oblivion folder.

If you are updating from v0.41 or earlier, remove all items from your mannequins, pick up your mannequins, and sell off all mannequin tokens. Save your game in a separate internal cell that has never had mannequins (and definitely not in Rudy's shop!).

To install the plug-in:

- Uncompress all of the files into the "Oblivion\Data" directory
+ AvArm.esp
+ AvArm.bsa
+ AvArm - Readme.txt

From the Oblivion Launcher, select Data Files and check the box next to the "AvArm.esp" file.

*** 3. Using the Plug-in

Once in the game you can visit a new shop, Avelar's Armory, located in the Imperial City Market District (southeast corner, along the wall). There are several pre-placed mannequins that can be used in the shop, as well as four new NPC vendors. There is also a task list where AvArm compatible mods can hook quests. AvArm mods may also include "preview sets" from Rudy that will give you a preview of the armor set on the mannequins, but do not give you access to the armor itself.

The mannequins allow you to equip items for display, select poses, apply armor previews, and use special effects. You can buy and place any number of mannequins. Read the book "Mannequin Manual", provided by Rudy in game, for full details on using the mannequins.
