Description:

An update/remake of the original clannfear companion.

*Project Background*

October 2008 saw the release of Wilson the Clannfear Companion. One of the more interesting features of the mod was that it came with 9 different textures for Wilson. Unfortunately you had to use the Construction Set to switch them. While it came with instructions this was still somewhat inconvenient for the average player. So I asked the author if i could do an update with my more advanced companion code, and the model switching script I had written for Inara the Elytra. He agreed, this is the result.

*Stats and Info*

Wilson is always 2 levels less than the player (Min 2, Max 42)
He will be about as strong as a normal Clannfear when he is level 11.
Clannfear have natural damage reflection and resistance to fire, however they are vulnerable to shock.
Wilson can not swim well, and will try to avoid water.

Clannfear are aggressive and fairly fast fighters. Wilson does good damage, has good armor but modest health.

Wilson has a total of 12 different colors you can pick by using the token item "Wilson's Pearl."
From the original: Alien, Blue, Brown, Green, Red, Special, Violet, White, Yellow,
New in this version: Mythic, Blackout, Default

Each color has a different perk:

Alien - Attack Damage Bonus
Blue - 20% Resist Frost Bonus
Blackout - Is very stealthy.
Brown - Health regeneration bonus.
Default - Is the same as a normal Clannfear and it does NOT level up.
Green - Resist Paralysis, Resist Poison bonuses.
Mythic - 10% Resist Magic Bonus
Red - 20% Resist Fire Bonus.
Special - Relic Stats from Wilson 1.8 by Jheuloh.*
Violet - 5% Reflect Spell Chance
White - 5% Reflect Damage bonus.
Yellow - Health bonus

*Jheuloh makes his creatures with stats similar to a well equiped player character, a 'power gamer' in critter form. I balance mine very close to what the vanilla creatures would be like if they were allowed to level up, keeping their original stats in the same ratios. In this case, his settings have more health and armor, mine do more damage.

*Control info for Joben's Critters*

My creatures come with a summon power.
Basic orders include Follow, Stay, and Go Home to a location that you define.

Multi-Click control system:
Click Use once to toggle Follow/Stay.
Double-Click to open an orders/options menu.

*Follow behavior*

Their AI is carefully scripted. Instead of standing and staring at you they wander and look at things or run around.
But if you get too far away, or if you start running, they will hurry up and follow closely.
They have catch up teleporting in case they get stuck.

If the player sneaks they will also sneak. If combat starts they will stop sneaking so they can move more freely.

*Combat and Death*

They are "Almost-Essential" ™ ;)
If knocked out they will stay that way until the fight is over. (Min 30 seconds)
This is more balanced than being Essential, more convenient then a resurrection kit or spell, and far more immersive than either.

If they get into a fight with a friend activating them is a "Down Girl/Boy" command and should stop it.

You can tell them stay nearby in fights, and/or not pursue fleeing enemies.
But, hey, they're just critters and don't always obey perfectly.

You can mark a target for them to attack with a special ranged spell.
Or you can shoot it with an arrow poisoned with special "Bait"
Each critter comes with a bait processor so you can brew bait from common ingredients.
