Jobs in Oblivion are more adventures rather than real jobs. Now, there is one waiter/waitress postition opened at The Merchants Inn restaurant.

Find Velus Hosidius at The Merchants Inn. Talk to him about "Work". You can ask for job only between 8 am and 8 pm.

Promotion of the restaurant
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Like any restaurant, The Merchants Inn restaurant needs some promotion and marketing. When you asked Velus Hosidius about "Work", he will tell you to go to promote the place to citizens. He will give you Goranga steaks for this purpose.

2. You received Goranga steaks to promote the restaurant. Go around and talk to some people. Talk about "Promotion" with any person you wish to became a permanent customer of the restaurant. Once you give Goranga steak to someone, he will not be able to resist to come to check what's that restaurant all about. He will become a permanent customer of the restaurant.You need 10 permanent customers that will
visit your restaurant on regular bases.

Note: Don't promote the restaurant to Maro Rufus, Calindil, Palonirya, Thoronir, Phintias and Viator Accius. Those are all merchants and they are already permanent customers. If you promote the restaurant to them, you will use other potential customers.

Note: You can make 10 permanent customers. You can check in your inventory how much Goranga steaks you gave. If you gave 10 Goranga steaks, your promotion job is done. How much your restaurant is visited depends on how many customers you found. I recomend that you find all 10.

Note: Once you promoted the restaurant you don't need to do that again. Choose "I already promoted the restaurant" when you want to start to work. You can promote it again only if you wish different customers.

Doing your job:

1. When you finish your promotion, you should go to Velus Hosidius and talk to him about "Work". From that point on, you are doing your waiter/waitress job.

Note: You should toggle walk (caps lock). It's difficult to run around restaurant.

2. Your first customer will come at 12 am. Tell him "Do you want to order something?". He/she will make an order.

3. Behind the bar you have Goranga chest with food and drink inside. Find the item your guest has ordered and give it to him. He will pay you.

Note: You can add items from the chest to your inventory to make your job more easy.

Note: The chest respawns, so your supply of food and drink is unlimited.

4. Once you served your guest, you can't take any orders from him for some time. New guests will come inside and some guests will leave the restaurant. You can go to serve new guests. Once you see the message "You can take new orders now" (you will also hear caughing sound) you can serve guests you have already served.

Note: You can serve only guests that are sitting. When the message is displayed, you might see some guest stand up. If they don't leave the restaurant, go and activate them. They will find another place to sit. After that, you can serve them.

5. If you want to finish work for that day, talk to Velus Hosidius about "End the work". He will pay you what you earned for the day. If you wish to work the whole day, at 2 am Velus Hosidius will tell you that you worked enough for that day and pay you what you earned for the day.

6. You can quit your job by talking to Velus about "Quit the job".

7. If you wish to work the next day, talk to Velus about "Work".

Note: The amount of money you make depends on how much you work and what customers order. Although you can't pick what they will order, you can pick how much you will be working during the day.

Time frames:

02 am to 08 am - You can't work at all in this time frame.

08 am to 12 am - This time frame is best used for promotion. You will not have any guests in this time frame.However, in this time frame you can choose to work.

12 am to 20 pm - You can work in this time frame and you will have some traffic of customers.

20 pm to 00 am - In this time frame you will have the most customers. In this time frame you can't choose to work. You must come before 8 to take this shift.

00 am to 02 am - The number of customers will reduce in this time frame. At 2 am Velus will approach you and pay you off.

Note: You can start to work only between 8 am until 20 pm. I didn't want to make rigid boundaries when you suppose to start to work, but I did want to create some urge to start to work on time to catch the most traffic (before 20 pm).

Dialog lines:

1. "Work" - Get employement and start to work if you are already employed.
2. "I will go to promote the restaurant" - Find customers / new customers
3. "I already promoted the restaurant" - Start to work immediately without promotion. Choose this if you already promoted the restaurant.
4. "Promotion" - Promote the restaurant to someone and make him permanent customer.
5. "Do you want to order something" - Use this dialog line to take order from a guest.
6. "End the work" - Finish your work for the day and receive payment.
7. "Quit the job" - Self explanatory.
