Description

This modder's resource expands the Imperial City with the new Forum District (as in a roman forum). The forum is initially empty except for patrolling guards (including a guard captain and new watch tower) but modders can use this resource to add new buildings to the Imperial City while avoiding many conflicts with other mods, including Better Cities and ImpeREAL City. Mod users are also required install this resource.

The Forum District is located between the Temple District and Arboretum.

There are currently two mods using this resource, both are included with this resource as seperate plugins:
1. An adapted (with permission) version of Jagnot's Imperial City Library which moves the library to the forum district as well as cleaning out all dirty edits which were present in the original mod and few other minor improvements.
2. My own mod which adds an enchanter shop where you can buy enchanted items from a grumpy dark elf. It's located right behind the library.

Installation

1. Extract and enable the following files to the Data folder:
- IC Forum District.esm (REQUIRED)
- IC Forum District Linker.esp (REQUIRED)
- IC Forum District Enchanter.esp (OPTIONAL)

The load order isn't important as long as the .esps come after the .esm.

2. If you want to install the library you must also extract the following files.
- IC Forum District Library.esp
- IC Forum District Library.bsa

If you are currently using Jagnot's Imperial City Library 1.3 you should disable it.

Conflicts

This mod can only possibly conflict with other mods which modify the gates leading from the Temple district to the Arboretum and back, but I am not aware of any such mods.

Bugs/Glitches

*****************************************

Due to technical limitations you cannot see map markers while in the Forum District and you cannot fast travel directly to the forum. You also can't travel there from Green Emperor Way. Fortunately this is only a minor inconvenience.

Info for modders

*****************************************

If you want to expand the forum district you only need to include IC Forum District.esm in your mod's master list (check it when you create a new mod). The district's world space is called ICForumDistrict. All landscape data is kept in ICForumWorld. Obviously you don't need my permission to upload mods which depend on this resource.

Here are some ideas for new buildings to add to the forum:
- A financial bank where you can deposit and loan money.
- A Fighter's Guild hall, maybe as part of a quest line after becoming the FG Master.
- An open podium in the center of the forum for theatre and entertainment.
- A museum (of artifacts?).
- A merchant's hall which you can rent and must manage to make profit (put that Mercantile skill to good use).
