About this mod
This files updates all the voice files in Verona House Bloodlines V12 with versions that have been updated to have a similar volume level as the original Oblivion voices.
- Permissions and credits
The Verona House Bloodlines V12 is a fantastic mod (thanks dawson.tom) but in many places the voices were so quiet and muffled that it was necessary to turn up the volume to hear them above the noice from the PC cooling fans - I do have 5 PCs all with extra 120mm fans in the side ;-).
All I have done was to take the existing MP3 files from the SI version, strip out the silent files, edit out as many of the clicks and low frequency level shifts that I could from the remaining 1798 files, then normalise the files.
The process was not perfect as some files have clicks and large low frequency pulses in them that I could not remove without destroying the speech in them, so these files do not sound as loud. However, overall the volume levels are much nearer to the Oblivion vanilla voices.
This is my first ever upload to TesNexus, so I welcome feedback and suggestions. If you find any voices that are still much too quiet and can locate the corresponding MP3 file, let me know its name and I will try to edit it.
Although the original files were taken from the SI version of Bloodlines, I am currently playing the vanilla version of Bloodlines with my modified audio files and have not found any compatability problems.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Just unpack the latest to Oblivion's data directory & allow it to overwrite the existing files. All the files in V1.0 are replaced by V1.1
WARNING - it does overwrite the existing Verona House Bloodlines MP3 files, so there is no going back without re-installing the original mod. If you are not sure about this, do not use this update and just enjoy the original mod.

V1.0 Initial upload. Files normalised to +95dB. Fully superceeded by V1.1.
This file has not been removed because some of the speech files are louder than the V1.1 version, so if you want to pick and choose files from different versions, please do. If you want an easy life, just use V1.1 and ignore this initial version.
V1.1
All audio files reprocessed because some audio files that had a large negative DC offset were badly distorted by the program used to do the normalising for V1.0. The files were normalised using Creative's Wavestudio. Unfortunately the files are mostly slightly quieter and so are not quite as loud as the vanilla speech, but at least the files with the -ve offset are not distorted.
To upgrade from the initial release, just install this version and allow all the old files to be overwritten.
Future version - I am currently editing as many clicks and pops as possible from the files to try and give them a more uniform volume level. If I ever finish this process I will post the results.

As I play through the Verona House Blodlines Mod V12 I find it an excellent mod worthy of spending time on to improve the audio quality. I would like this update to be considered as a tribute to the original mod.
None of the files are my own work and all the credit for their creation must remain with dawson.tom. It took me hours just to edit a few MP3 files, it must have taken months of work to actually create the original mod. Respect!
