*Important: requires OBSE v0018, you can get it here: http://obse.silverlock.org/*

Regarding the previous mod, it's still here in case you prefer it, and the new mod's name is now Vampires Bite Revamped in order to distinguish it from the previous one. I will add new screenshots as soon as possible, although they aren't needed because most of the content is related to gameplay, non-visible stuff.

It always annoyed me that the only way of becoming a vampire was either to fight one (more like many) and get infected by getting beaten, or being infected by Vicente Valtieri.
Since most (if not all) of my characters end up becoming vampires, I wanted a way of becoming one that didn't involve either of them.

Then one night, I was feeding on Methredhel when I thought, "What if it were possible to get bitten by other vampires too?" Thus, Vampires Bite was born.

Now, it's been months and I decided to improve my mod. First, I decided to change the name, but I liked it too much that I decided to call it "Vampires Bite Revamped" instead.

I rebuilt it from the ground up, focusing on performance and simplicity. I changed the way the infection is handled. Also, I took into consideration any resistance to disease the PC might have.
But, because most of the changes are internal, you will feel like VBR (Vampires Bite Revamped) close to being the same as VB (Vampires Bite).
This is close to the truth, but only because I wanted to set the foundations for a more complex mod.

And now, without further ado, I will describe how this mod works.

Each time you go to sleep, you might get bitten at random, depending on the chances of being bitten (configurable through the in-game menu). If you do get bitten, then you will get infected and lose a random amount of health, but you won't die.
You can avoid getting infected if you have a Resist Disease effect active, the higher the better your odds of not being infected.

Using the in-game options menu, you can change the following:

-The chances of getting bitten (1, 2, 5, 10 or 20 percent). I recommend setting it at 1 or 2 (maybe even 5 if you feel like it). The previous range was far broader, but I wanted to aim for realism witha certain degree of freedom.
-Enable or disable the loss of health when you're bitten. For roleplaying purposes, I don't recommend disabling it unless you're having trouble, like dying each time you get bitten.

Also, I included an alternate version that is compatible with LTD-Vampire Overhaul, which ,as far as I'm aware of, is the only overhaul that needs one.

The previous version included optional special effects, which I decided not to include in this version for different reasons. But rest assured that they will be included in the forthcoming versions.

Here's a list of some planned features:

-Like I mentioned, special effects simulating blood loss.
-NPCs getting bitten too.
-Maybe, showing a vampire NPC actually biting the player.

Install
=======
1. Extract the files to a temporary location.
2. Copy textures folder to (install folder)\Oblivion\Data\
3. Copy RAF Vampires Bite Revamped.esp to (install folder)\Oblivion\Data\ or RAF Vampires Bite Revamped - LTDVO.esp if you use LTDVampireOverhaul (choose only one version, not both). The latter was made with LTDVampire Overhaul v1.25 but will work with previous versions.
4. Start Oblivion Launcher, click 'Data Files', place a checkmark beside the .esp file.
5. Enjoy!

Uninstall
=========
1. Start Oblivion Launcher, click Data Files, uncheck the .esp file.
2. Delete the file associated with the mod:

Oblivion\Data\Textures\menus/icons/RAF/VB/VBIcon.dds

Upgrade
=======

You need a clean save in order to use this mod.

1. Start Oblivion Launcher, click 'Data Files', uncheck all plugins associated to my previous mod (e.g. RAF Vampires Bite 2) or any previous versions.
2. Start the game and, with my mod deactivated, save the game.
3. Now follow normal install instructions mentioned above.

Incompatibility
===============

Other than LTD-VampireOverhaul needing a special esp, I don't know any other mod that conflicts or may conflict with this one. Only make sure that if you use the compatibility version, it loads after LTD-VampireOverhaul.

Known Issues or Bugs
====================
As far as I know, there aren't any.
