Skingrad is players-house and Skingrad conversion mod but there is a bit more to it. It is unique house mod, NPC servant with life mod and there is mini-fight-quest for ownership of this house as bonus. This luxurious nobleman's house is at very centre of Skingrad Old City District and is well suited for higher level player. But as usually there is one small hitch - house is securely locked so you can not just walk in! To get it for your own you will need to find late owner.

Story goes that this illustrious house has belonged to exiled Nord Baron Wilhelm Ragner until day of his death. Nowadays it is empty but only person which knows more Housekeeper Mistress Aviera Rienus doesn't want to talk about it. Just before his death Baron has revelled himself to be Vampire but with his imminent death that has become soon after an old story. He was laid to rest in Skingrad Julianos Chapel. Perhaps it would be wise to check Chapel Undercroft for clues.

Word of warning this mod is not suitable for ill equipped - low level beginners! There is more to it than it meets the eye at first glance. ;)

Note:

This house is based on Rosethorn Hall and carries more then passing resemblance to it. Reason for this is simple this is in the fact Rosethorn Hall I am using in my own game. Modding of original for public use has proven as quite impractical thus this entirely new / separate Rider Plaza House you can enjoy/use as well as your vanilla or already modded Rosethorn Hall. If in doubt about housemaid Eyja (in any form) she will stay in Rosethorn as intended.

Note on v1.1 Update:

House and main-quest are same as in v1.0 but this mod now subtly changes some aspects of standard Skingrad look. The most notably path-grid system used by all NPC's has received complete overhaul and is vastly improved now. These grids are very important part of game and if you are using Crowded Cities or something similar you will see immediate results. Other changes made are mostly of visual nature. Skingrad is more lush now - has more shrubs/trees and is better lit - has more street lights. Other numerous changes are less important and probably won't be even noticed by many but in this "new" Skingrad expect overall experience to be more in line with feel real medieval Italian / Central European cities have. Install after v1.0 if you want this changes.

Installation:

Extract or copy/paste all files into your Oblivion game folder. When you are asked to overwrite files under meshes and textures, select 'yes to all'.
Activate Dalls_Skingrad.esp mod plug-in to get it into game. Load order should not be of any importance.

Important:

Before use make back-up save anywhere else but not inside Skingrad City walls! Activate / Start this mod from that (outside Skingrad) save. This is very important step with this mod as with any other landscape / urbanscape changing mod!

If this is not observed you might encounter visual oddities which will become if saved irreparable part of your game saves.

Incompatibilities/bugs:

I am not aware of any bugs or incompatibilities as I am not changing any game quests but quite naturally any other mod which changes same world / cell space as mine will clash with it. In that case choose which one will load last as that one wins.

Supplied optional Alt Skingrad Cobblestones textures I like better then Skingrad vanilla ones. Install last if you want to change. If unhappy just delete them from textures/landscape folder and game will restore original ones.

Optional Plug-in/esp:

Note on Dalls_Crowded Cities v0.98: Immersion add-on. Modified version of Crowded Cities mod by BkWyrm13. Less arms and helmets, some clothes taken out-some new ones put in. Makes crowds look more citizen like . Working fine but still work in progress .

Recommended but optional mods:

There are many great ones but I'll endorse here only two which are offten unjustly missed. If you do not have/use Crowded Cities mod by BkWyrm13 you are missing quite a bit of city life immersion. With it in place all cities start to look more like real ones. If you like to go around and kill/rob everything in sight you will love it as it brings in loads of potential victims but beawer as they are armed and quite dangerous. This mod can be found at:

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6665

If you do not want to kill everyone in sight and don't want everyone armed and fully armored as for war while strolling around peaceful city you might want to give try to my optional conversion.

Citizens in it look more like citizens and less like invading barbarians just of their Drakar long-boats. Same applies to all classes.

There are probably some rough edges as this is work in progress. Regardless of your choice you must use/activate only one Crowded Cities plug-in/esp!

Another by me recommended mod is Exterior Actors Have Torches by nenina. It is great mod to have and it works really well with Crowded Cities. This one can be found at:

Use it as you like without need to contact me for permission but due credit is expected.
