About this mod

Gives the Abandoned House in Cheydinhal a look inspired by the Daedrid Ruins ov Vvardenfell. (TEXTURES ARE FROM A TEXTURE REPLACEMENT PACK AND THEREFORE LEGAL)

Permissions and credits
Hi.
I think it's always a good idea to make backups, and what better place to make backups than the internet?

Anyone who downloads this mod is a friend of mine. You can contact me on any instant messenger client. On MSN, I'm [email protected]. On AIM and Yahoo!, I'm Skaera75b. If you've downloaded this mod, and have anything at all to say to me, I'm happy to listen, and I'm normally online. Don't hesitate to ask me about this mod.

The mod itself is a legal retexture ovf the Abandoned House in Cheydinhal. This is a nice, medium-sized house in a good location, in possibly my favourite city in the game. The Dark Brotherhood sit beneath, yet the house is player-owned and all storage is safe.

As you can see, the house has had something of a refurbishment. I've used meshes from b3w4r3's Dremora Companion mod (Picture frames, Potions cabinet, and the kitchen floor) and The Shivering Isles (Official mod- not required to play) and Daedric textures from a Morrowind texture pack (NOT the original textures; thus this mod is legal) as well as some originals to make this house my own.

My character's name is Varel Beran. There's a whole story behind that, but I've not written the novel yet (cue sarcastic applause). The items in this house are named so that they 'belong' to him- this is easily fixed in the CS if you'd prefer to rename them. There are pictures of him and Sabine Luna (his companion, whom I may yet 'release') on the walls. These are also easily removed, or modified. It's very easy to use your own screenshots in picture frames, I just use Nifskope and the GIMP.

The idea was to make the player's house look 'inspired by' the Vvardenfell Daedric architecture, without simply porting a large ruin from Morrowind. So the house is basically the same old Cheydinhal Abandoned House that we all know well, and it's been tidied up and redecorated to look something out of Morrowind.

Thanks, and enjoy the house / resource!

UPDATE (1.5-2.0) 11/09/10 (PM)
Some more work, and I've added an Arena and Bloodworks to the inside. It should be using the old textures from the Morrowind texture pack. I use a high-res texture pack but I tried to edit it out of this as it's unreleased. Give it a go- you can fight NPCs and / or creatures in your own personal Daedric Arena.

UPDATE (1.3-1.5) 11/07/09
I'm satisfied that the mod is complete, such as it is. The kitchen has been 'refined', by which I mean slight tweaks have been made, and things line up a little better. Also, the basement is complete, with 4 guest bedrooms, and a nice training area (with a nice surprise, for fellow anti-Impedrials). The bedrooms are assigned to my companions, but this is easily personalised in the CS, should you be somewhat tech-savvy. The entire road to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary has been brought in line with the new Cheydinhal house, and I've removed the rubble and mess from the area around the Ancient Black Door. I didn't see why it should be so dilapidated- Yes, the Brotherhood have been active for centuries, and their base is underneath an abandoned house, but surely they'd clean up the area surrounding their entrance? Surely, professional assassins would have some pride in their home?
No new screenshots as of yet.

UPDATE (1.2-1.3) 07/07/2009 (PM)
The paintings now have incredibly vain descriptions, as I was trying to get my head round scripting. That hole in the wall which was present in the original Cheydinhal Abandoned house has been fixed. You can see how by using TCL near the middle floor- it's a mess, but it looks great from inside the house.

UPDATE (1.0-1.2) 07/07/2009 (AM)
The kitchen has been... well, now there's a definite 'kitchen area'. The sink is functional insomuch as if you click it, your health is restored. The sink mesh was made by Helborne, as are the Imp statues outside the house. There's also a 'Fridge', though I'm taking a liberty by calling it that. Static food has been added, but I've failed to make them into working containers, so they're just static, as are the glasses. The meshes for the food and glasses are by WhiteFang. There's also a new floor around the kitchen, to further separate it as such. The coffee and coffee apparatus is by JQ, Jannix Quinn, as part of his 'Azura's Coffee Shop' mod.

I need some help with scripting, as I'm sure you can see. The idea was that the coffee would cast a 'fortify fatigue' spell, but that hasn't worked, even though the popup message does.

So, more stolen meshes and textures, and a more complete house. Feel free to contact me at the address included in the readme.
