Foreword:
You'll find Friska floating around in Silverhome on the Water in Bravil. She's a ranger-type class, and special care has been taken to make sure she's able to heal herself, so you shouldn't worry too much about stocking her up with healing potions. :)

Requirements


CM Partners 2.0 or higher

DesuChan's Kawa-Khajiits

Oblivion Patch 1.2.0416 or higher

Install


1. Extract the file into your Oblivion/Data directory.

2. Very important: Make sure CM Partners.esm, CM Partners.esp, and DesuChan's Kawa-Khajiits are all checked off and BEFORE this mod in your load order. If any of these mods are after this one in load order, the mod may not work properly. Use a program like OBMM to ensure a proper load order.

3. Start Oblivion Launcher, click 'Data Files', place a check mark beside the .esp.

4. Head to Silverhome on the Water in Bravil. You'll find her there.

Uninstall

Go into your Oblivion/Data directory and delete CM Partners Friska.esp.

Upgrading From a Previous Version


If you're upgrading from a previous version, be sure to read the following carefully to avoid any problems.

Before installing this mod, go into your game and relieve Friska of any possessions you don't feel like losing. Tell her to go on standby and enter a different cell without her. Save the game and close it.

Install and check off the newer version and head back to Silverhome on the Water. She'll be waiting for you, fresh out of the box again.

Incompatibilities, Known Issues or Bugs


-If you head into Silverhome on the Water and get a CTD:

Make sure you have the latest version of Oblivion.
Make sure all of the appropriate mods are checked off and in the right load order.
Don't attempt to modify the .esp unless you're cool enough (see below.)

-If Friska refuses to join you:

You probably smell funny. Heh, just kidding. You may have to raise her disposition a bit. CM Partners was designed in such a way that a partner will refuse to travel with you until they like you more. So maybe you do smell funny after all!

-If you're hanging with Friska but you're not sure if you should due to a very odd looking tail:

You need to download the newest version of this mod. Some people have had issues regarding her tail in the first one.

If you're using an older version but for whatever reason do not feel like upgrading AND continue having tail issues delete or renaming the kawatail.nif file, found in the data/meshes/character/DesuChan's Kawa-Khajiit/Head folder. Doing so will disable the tail, and should stop the razor-tail. I will continue investigating this phenomenon in the meantime. Special shoutout to DuncanIdaho for isolating this fix.

-If you downloaded this mod and can't find DesuChan's race mod anywhere on the internet:

It probably doesn't exist anymore. Be careful when browsing old sites!

--VERY IMPORTANT--

DO NOT attempt to modify the .esp unless you know what you're doing (ie you've made CM Partner mods utilizing custom races and know of the complications that come with making them.)

If the mod is edited and resaved, it will most likely lose its dependency to DesuChan's Kawa-Khajiits and Oblivion will no longer be able to find Friska's race, even if both .esps are still active. In other words, brutal crash to desktop.

If you tried to anyway because you don't like reading descriptions and now you're kicking yourself in the butt, your best bet is to simply reinstall the mod over the one you tried to tinker with. Shame on you.
