Yet another leveling system for Oblivion.
Works only for new characters, but doesn't mess up old characters when installed. (You even get to
choose if you want to use NFL or not when you exit the prison sewers)
This one saves your starting attributes and skills at the point where you exit the Prison sewers.
All calculations are then based on how much you have increased your skills from that starting value,
and the increase is added to your starting attributes.
Strength = StartStrength + (CurrentBladeSkill - StartBladeSkill ) * BladeModifier +
(CurrentBluntSkill - StartBluntSkill ) * BluntModifier +
(CurrentHandToHandSkill - StartHandToHandSkill ) * HandToHandModifier
Major skills increase attribute with 0.5 and minor skills with 0.2.
Attributes are increased when you sleep/wait. (Sorry, there doesn't seem to be a way to the differance
between sleep and wait)
Luck has a 50% chance to increase by 1 when you gain a level.
If you gained more then 5 skill levels in an minor skill before exiting the prison sewer those skill
levels will not contribute to attribute raises. (Grind in the newbee area at your own risk.)
Then normal Level up screen is still in place, but your choices there does not have any affect.
(Except for a very minor health boost if you choose Endurance.)
Health is still managed by the normal Oblivion leveling routines.
WARNING.
If you choose a class that does not have a major skill for an attribute, those attributes will possible
not be able to reach 100. (95 * 3 * 0.2 = 60 to add to start attribute. So if your starting attribute
is lower then 40 or you have a racial bonus to a skill for that attribute you will not be able to reach
100.) Luck will most likely not reach 100 either.
I have put in some stuff to compensate for Vampirism and SkeletonKey, but those are untested.
Q & A:
Q: Does NFL stand for None Fucked-up Level system.
A: Maybe, maybe not
Q: If my computer/character/girlfriend/boyfriend/dog gets harmed by your program, can I sui you?
A: NO! Use at your own risk.
Q: I don't like how NFL works.
A: Change it your self or don't use it at all.
Q: What is the max level with NFL?
A: Same as standard in Oblivion. (Depending on race and class.) NFL only calculates new attribute
values, it does not mess with character levels or health.
Q: Why did you make NFL? Why not use XXX or YYY instead?
A: All the other leveling systems that I found had flaws that I couldn't live with.
Example:
You didn't start to gain attributes until your skill level was at a certain level (making all races the
same).
Or Health was way to high in the start, or to low in the end.
Or just plain didn't work.
Q: Will NFL allow attributes to go over 100.
A: NO. Base attribute are caped at 100 exactly like standard. But Foritfications can still raise them
above 100.
