Why are the mods combined?

Saddlebags and Call Steed were independently developed by Oblivion community members MaboroshiDaikon and mcallon respectively. However, upon learning that there was a compatibility issue when both mods were loaded, we decided to merge our mods, so you could enjoy the benefits of both mods at the same time. We are pleased to announce that this release offers a solution to the aforementioned compatibility issue.

PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to use both mods, you will need to discard any earlier version of either mod and use the combo mod only, even if you have Saddlebags 0.91 already, as the first version of 0.91 is not compatible with Call Steed 2.0

Why are you distributing this version?

Call Steed 2.0 had several bugs that needed to be fixed before players could fully enjoy its benefits.No changes have been made to the Saddlebags mod.

What Changes were made between CallSteed 2.0 and 2.5?

1)Fixed bug: Player could not steer horse when it was out of follow mode.

2)Fixed bug: Prior Marborel's Paint Horse would follow a player around, even though it was not summoned and the player did not own it.

3) Added a new spell named "Call Steed" which can be used to call a horse to you from wherever it may be. "Summon Steed" ports the horse near the caster, but "Call Steed" tells it to start running to you from its
current location. **Note horses can not enter closed doors, but they can be summoned into cities using "Call Steed." Remember, how long it takes your horse to get to you using "Call Steed" simply depends on how far away
it is from your current location. Also, there is no stop follow spell for the horses; just mount, dismount, and select "No" when asked if you want your horse to follow.

4) Increased the distance at which summoned or called horses follow the player.

5) Reduced the magicka cost of Summon Steed.

6) Added summon and call spells to an additional vendor. You can now buy both Call Steed and Summon Steed from two vendors in Imperial City: Calindil of Mystic Emporium and Edgar Vautrine of Edgar's Discount Spells.

Also, don't forget the special item quest:

Now, here is a bonus for the true explorer: Legend has it there is an enchanted object that can be used to summon a much sought after mystical creature, the Unicorn, but time has diluted the truth of its location, and now no one really knows where this magical item is located. In fact, the item has been reported to not only summon the Unicorn, but it also has another extraordinary and unexpected benefit. For those brave souls interested in owning this elusive treasure, heed the following poem:

Deep within Tamriel's green bosom,
Ever so still and cold I lay
In wooden walls tightly locked.
My guardians eagerly await the fray.

Good luck!

**If you find the object, please don't spoil the secret of its location for other players. :)

FINAL NOTE: You can still summon Marobel's Horse even if you have not completed the quest, and he will still be reported as stolen until you complete the quest, but he will not follow you by default as he did before.

What does it do?
================
Adds functional saddle bags to almost all horses.

To use on a player owned horse, Activate your horse while in sneak mode. The saddle bags function just like a chest. Use the icon at the bottom to switch between your inventory and the saddle bag inventory.

To use on a stolen horse, Activate your horse while in Attack mode. You don't need to have a weapon, just hit the "F" key. Without your weapon drawn you can mount the horse both in normal and sneak mode. Accessing the inventory of a stolen horse never alerts guards.

Installation
============
It's really a good idea to create a *new* saved game slot with the plugin enabled. If problems occur you can go back to the point before you enabled the plugin.

The regular plugin has an encumbrance limit that is 2 times the health of a horse. It also slows the horse down if you add more than half of it's weight limit. This is a progressive change, so 1 pound over barely affects it and putting the max weight on the horse brings it down to half of it's normal speed.

The NoLimit plugin does not limit the weight that each horse can carry.

The above two mods are just about identical, with only one difference. The regular mod has the MDGblLimitHorseCapacity global variable set to 1. You can enable/disable horse weight limits in both mods with the following console command:

Set MDGblLimitHorseCapacity to 1
(to enable limits. Use 0 instead to disable limits)

*** Warning *** do not change these values while your horse has stuff in it's inventory!

You can change the point at which a horse starts to slow down with the following command:

Set MDGblEncumberHorseDivder to 2.0
(this is the default. If you set it to 1.0, horse slowdown is disabled. Larger numbers start scaling the speed earlier and numbers between 1.0 and 2.0 start scaling the speed later. Don't set this number below 1.0)

You can make all of the horses have a common inventory with the following command:
Set MDGblSharedBags to 1
(0 is the default. Each horse normally has it's own inventory)

Removal and Upgrades
====================
To upgrade from .7 or earlier, do the following:

Load up your latest save game and take all of your items out of your saddle bags. You can drop them on the ground if you need to. Save into a *new* saved game slot and exit Oblivion.

Follow the installation instructions above and restart Oblivion.

To upgrade from .8 or later, make a backup of your old plugin and simply extract the new files. Loot should stay put. If you find that there is a problem, restore your old plugin and follow the directions from the .7 upgrade.

To remove, follow the directions from the .7 upgrade, but instead of installing the new files, start the Oblivion Launcher and take the plugin out of data files. Delete the saddle bag .esp files from your Oblivion\Data directory if desired. Restart Oblivion and load your game. Click yes to the warning. Re-save your game into the slot you created in step one.

Special Thanks
==============
Zelgadis for the great idea of tracking the Player's inventory weight instead of the horse's inventory weight. It really made the limited mod possible.

Claude Meric for the idea of storing the items on the horse with the RemoveAllItems command and moving them to a single chest whenever the player wants to browse the inventory.

Bugs & Limitations
==================
May interfere with some other horse mods (unknown)

Special Note:

Again, thank you all for you patience, and I apologize for missing the bugs in the first version of the combined mod I released.
