BETTER IMPERIAL PALACE DISTRICT - MODDER'S RESOURCE
===================================================

by Fearabbit

DESCRIPTION:
============

This is a small project I started some time ago, but I never got very far because I needed meshes that I couldn't make on my own and nobody responded when I asked for help. The idea was always to just release this if I notice that I'm not working on it anymore. And today I decided that this seems to be the case, so here it is.

This mod basically removes the graveyard around the Imperial Palace and replaces it with certain official buildings. It also raises the Imperial Palace, so that you can see a little bit of what's behind those walls. Not very much, but it's a start. I think an interested modder could really make some cool stuff with it.

MY CONCEPT:
===========

I do have a concept for each section of the district. Of course, there's no obligation to follow it, I just thought it could be helpful. In some sections there are "big buildings" that serve a certain purpose.
(Take a look at the Overview screenshot to find out which number belongs to which section)

1) "Entrance" section with Talos statue. Big building: Offices of the provinces with representatives ("ambassadors"), maybe also representatives of Colovia and Nibenay. Wall houses possibly dwellings for said representatives or for more important guests.
2) "Entrance" section with Emperor statue. Good place for government buildings (haven't thought of anything specific here)
3) Big building: Hall of Guilds. EACH guild mentioned in lore books should have an office here, with the size and location inside the building dependent on the guild's importance (e.g. the Prostitutes Guild and the Cobblers Guild have a very small office somewhere in the basement, Fighters Guild and Mages Guild have big offices on the third floor).
4 and 5) "Hanging Gardens" sections with waterfalls, tropical plants and many levels of water canals - similar to Vivec's Palace in MW, only more green. This is where I was missing meshes.
6) Offices for Imperial trading companies (e.g. East Empire Company) and other Imperial organizations, possibly the building commission from "A Dance in Fire".

Next to each of the 6 gates that lead to the surrounding districts, I've put entrances that lead nowhere yet (just like all the other entrances because I didn't make any interiors). Those are supposed to lead to the underground areas from Imperial City Expanded.

Of course, the sections should also have some plants, but I think they should be in planters, and shouldn't look all wild growing as they did before. Also, the ground shouldn't be grassy, but it should be a beautiful plaza, possibly with mosaics. New landscape textures can be used here, or floor meshes, that is up to you. :D

DOWNLOADING/USING THE PLUGIN
============================

Included in the download is only an esp file. HOWEVER, this file depends on Better Cities Resources.esm as well as on certain resources from Better Cities.
You need to have these files or else you'll get missing objects or missing meshes!
The reason for this choice was simply that it was easier for me, and most people who are interested in a more beautiful IC Palace District probably already use Better Cities anyway.
