Description
===========
This mod requires OBSE v0014 or newer and Shivering Isles. If you don't have SI, it's probably not going to work.

Adds items that permanently add a bonus to damage to the currently equipped weapon. Sharpening stones add a damage bonus to blades, weights add damage and weight to blunt weapons. Any weapon can only be modded ONCE so make sure you wait if you dont have the best type of item to use on the weapon you want to mod.

Now, the differences between this version and Aridale's previous version. When I first found this mod, I thought it was brilliant. Simple but very well done, pretty much trouble-free and definitely adding to the immersion of the game and a neat new way to customize your weapons. But, I didn't think the existing graphics really did Aridale's work justice. So, I went ahead and replaced the generic loose cobblesone model used for the sharpening and weight stones. Now each sharpening stone has its own texture, new name and price according to its grade. Weight stones have now been replaced using the cylindrical bar model created originally for Tamriel's Glittering Geology's precious metal bars and retextured, renamed and priced according to material. The Silver Rune Etching Kit has also recieved a retexture more appropriate to its function. There's also a book, "Sharpened, Weighted and Silvered", available at The First Edition in the Imperial City Marketplace if you want to learn more about the stones, weights and kit.

Details
=======
The items have been put into a LeveledList and that LeveledList has been added to a bunch of other LeveledLists throughout Oblivion and Shivering Isles. If you use other mods that change the gamed default LeveledLists (OOO MMM Frans etc) you need to use a List Merger before you use this mod or some effects may be lost. The more common sharpening stones and weights have been added to vendor inventories in the various weapon and generic trade shops of Cyrodiil and Shivering Isles, a few of the higher-quality ones can only be found at a handful of merchants and the highest quality ones, well, you're just going to have to get lucky searching. No vendor inventories have been altered, I've just added new containers to the appropriate cells, far outside the rooms themselves so as not to create any conflicts with any objects/items/NPCs from either the original game or any other mods.

The items available are Sharpening Stones, Weights and a Silver Rune Etching Kit. Sharpening Stones can only be used on bladed weapons and Weights can only be used on blunt weapons. The 1 handed weapons have a limit to the type of stone they can use respectively. This is done to keep 1 handed weapons from gettin in the damage range of 2 handed weapons. The limit for 1 handed bladed weapons is 5 the limited for 1 handed blunt weapons is 7. Any of the stones can be used on the 2 handed weapons theyre made for respectively. Theres 8 different types of Sharpening Stones and Weights. For Sharpening Stones, there are Rough Whetstones, Medium Whetstones, Fine Whetstones, High Quality Oilstones, Professional Oilstones, Ara-to Waterstones, Naka-to Waterstones and Shiage-to Waterstones. For Weights, there are Bronze Weights, Iron Weights, Steel Weights, Copper Weights, Tungsten Weights, Lead Weights and Ebony Weights. The Silver Rune Etching Kit allows you to customize a mundane weapon to ignore normal weapon resistances like a silver or enchanted weapon. As with the original mod, each change made to a weapon will change the name to reflect what you've done to it. All other information about Aridale's original mod applies, restated below so you don't have to go searching for it if you don't have it:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This mod is FULLY compatible with my Dynamic Weapon Speed mod. Its not required at all but it is completely compatible.

The Sharpening stones simply sharpen the blade adding to its damage stat permanently. The Weight stones add their weight to the weapons because they are mounted in/on the weapon to help balance it.

No special care has been taken to keep you from using the items on Quest Items. Doing so MAY break any quest using them. Theres also a chance that if the weapon is scripted in such a way that its script may be broken by using an item from this mod on it. The safest practice would be keep a save before you mod a weapon if you arent entirely sure and NOT to use it a quest item unless your fully aware you might break the quest and dont care.

Now when you attempt to use a stone or kit it will tell you weither it can be used on your current weapon. If not youll get a message telling you why. If you can youll be given a message box telling you what the item will do and explain that it cant be undone and once done cant be done again and ask you to confirm. The need to use the control key has been removed.

Licensing/Legal
===============
From Aridale: You must contact me and obtain my permission before re-packaging any part of
this mod. If I do not respond within 2 weeks, feel free to do whatever you
like with this mod. I take no responsibility for whatever this mod may do to your game, house or liver.

From Skullhunter: My only real contribution here is the textures and the new book; you don't need my permission to use them at all but a thank you would be perfectly fine. I'm also not responsible for your liver.

Thanks to: Aridale for okaying my rework of his mod, Gristle and XMarkstheSpot for the metal bar model from Glittering Geology (I think that's where it's from), Daleth for the Book Modders' Resource, AlienSlof and Emma for inspiring me to keep working in the world of Nirn after all this time, my wife for her usual patience with me and of course all you nice folks who download and play this. You're the reason I do it. Enjoy!
