Home Travel - Version 1.1

Massive apologies to everyone who fell victim to my idiotic mistake in the last release! I moronically recomplied ALL scripts for the plugin (overriding every other mod script if this was selected) and massively bulking out the file size. This simply fixes that. Apologies again, other than fixing this problem, nothing has changed since the last version. To load the 'lowered requirement' version select 'Home Travel - Slack.esp," while 'Home Travel - Original' has the more rigorous requirements I set intially.

Sorry again and thanks for your forbearance! Special thanks to mephiron for bringing the problem to my attention.

Home Travel, Version 1.0

New version of this mod, this time with two seperate ESPs. The first one is THE SAME as the earlier release - nothing has been changed. If you're happy with the way the mod worked, then there's no reason for you to donwload this update. The new ESP file (Home Travel - Slackened Requirements)
changes the requirements necessary before the ring will let you travel to a location. Previously, you had to own and fully furnish a house before you could fast travel there, some people pointed out this was both annoying and ruinously expensive, so this version allows you to travel anywhere you
own. The exception remains the house you can buy in Bravil, you MUST complete the associated quest before you can travel there, otherwise you can screw up the effects the game uses to indicate where in the quest you are. As before, you can find the ring in the waterfront shack in the Imperial City.

Note 1: Only run one of the two esp files - I am not responsible if you switch on both and your character metamorphoses into a giant sloth, or the sky of Tamriel falls!

Note 2: This should be fully compatible with the earlier mod - just deselect (or for preference overwrite) the old esp and select whichever of the new options you like - no need to start a new game!

Thanks guys, cheers for now.

John

***OLD README***
Home Travel, Version 0.9

I drove myself mad with endless script loops and uncooperative variables, but I finally managed to create a Ring that allows fast travel between the various locations a player can come to occupy. Obviously, it doesn't let you travel to places you don't own - you need to complete the associated quests (or in certain cases be of sufficient rank) to make use of the transport function.

You can find the ring lying on the floor between the door and the fireplace in the shack you can buy in the Imperial City Waterfront - it's called Alacrity!

Just equip it to use - NOTE - given the limited number of options in a messagebox, there is no 'Cancel' option - if you equip the ring, you have to go somewhere!!

Also, given that there are a finite number of items you can place in a messagebox, this version does not support travel to the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary, or anything you get for heading the Fighters Guild (I never join, so I have no clue what I'm missing!).

Planned Revisions -

Allowing travel to the full range of dwellings
Some sort of back quest to acquire the ring

Feel free to use this as the basis for any mod you want to create (most of the work is done by a script called 'HomeWarps,' or alter the requirements for travel to anything that suits you. If you do use the ring or the script in a marvellous mod that everyone loves, please give me a nod!

Bye for now - hope this helps a few people.

Any questions or suggestions for my next mod, PM me at TES Source!
