About this mod

This mod adds a new Thieves Guild Fence hidden away somewhere in the Market District. She has a very high amount of available gold, no more selling stuff worth 20,000 for 3,000. She will sell to anyone, even non Thieves Guild members. Also has some special, unenchanted items.

Gianna's Sundries, a Fence v1.1

*DO NOT DL Version 1.0, it is there only as a matter of record. Grab 1.1... :)

General Information

Gianna Maddicci is an extremely rich noblewoman from very far away, who has come to Tamriel, and Cyrodiil in particular, to further her enterprises. She's a con woman turned fence for the Thieves' Guild, but will buy and sell to anyone. She's not the "sneaky, rob your house while you're home" kind of thief, she's the "Con you out of everything you own, including the clothes off your back, and leave" kind of thief. Being a professional con artist, she is a Master Trainer in Speechcraft. Unfortunately for her, and great for you, she sucks at mercantile. She is a full fledged Member of the Thieves' Guild, so if you steal from her or attack her while in the Thieves' Guild, you will be penalized.

Once you enter the IC Market District, you will receive a quest to find her. No map marker, sorry, but it shouldn't be that tough to figure out if you think about it or look around. Once you find her shop, the quest completes.

NOTE: Because she is a Fence for the Thieves' Guild, selling to her will count towards the "Independent Thievery" quests that you encounter during the Thieves' Guild quest line. Not only that, it will count even if you aren't a member of the Thieves' Guild yet. If you sell a crapload of stuff to her, and then join the Thieves' Guild later on, you will automatically complete these quests each time they are required. While an unintended side effect, it's not something I consider bad. I actually think it's pretty cool. If you have an issue with this, and plan to join the Thieves' Guild later on, simply do not use her until you are a member.

I made this mod for personal use, frustrated when I found several expensive items, in the 15-25k range, and had to sell them for less than 3,000 gold. As such, she has 50,000 available gold. Be warned, you will get rich. Really rich. There are some things to offset this however.

Firstly, is housing. Buying housing in the game, combined with the costs of upgrades, can set you back a lot, and should serve to filter away some of that cash.

Second, Gianna sells several special items. A couple of rare, enchanted weapons I pulled randomly from the loot tables, some soul gems, a crapload of books, some miscellaneous items, Welkynd Stones, and a couple of Varla Stones.

Most notably, however, she sells "Knock-Offs" of Rare Artifacts. Annoyed that the Spellbreaker Shield is enchanted, when it looks so cool? She sells an unenchanted version. Anything unique in the game that I could dig up, including the Amulet of Kings, has been duplicated here, unenchanted, free of Scripts and Quest Item tags. The original versions weren't touched, the mod is clean, so don't worry.

She also sells a Steel Bow that has been upgraded to Daedric Levels, called the Lethal Bow. I don't like the look of the Daedric weapons personally, so this remedies that for anyone else who feels the same. She also sells Lethal Silver Arrows, which are 1/10th the weight of most arrows (mimicking a mod I already use for other arrows), and are slightly stronger than Daedric Arrows, but cost 5 Gold per arrow instead of 3. She stocks 500 at a time, and they should respawn. Lastly, she sells Journeyman level Charm and Open Lock spells.

She has a Bodyguard. Do not fight him, he will kick your ass. If the Imperial Guard is chasing you however, running to him might be a good idea if you need some help.

Both Gianna and her Bodyguard are Essential and cannot die.

Change Log

v1.1 AKA, I can't believe I didn't catch these yesterday!

*Fixed pathgrid issues inside the shop. NPCs will not longer try and walk through the counter.

*The cases inside the shop are now locked. They were in v1.0, I just didn't realize I had fixed it.

*Fixed a bug with the Bodyguard's weapons.

*Altered Gianna's AI. She isn't intended to engage in combat should the Imperial Watch be dragged down there. She's essential, but she's also level 1. Tell me if this fix doesn't work.

*Improved the readme (tons of grammar and spelling fixes).

Bugs and Feedback

I have no known bugs as of 1.1. Let me know about any bugs that you find, like the NPCs behaving strangely, the shop not respawning, etc. Also, I am looking for feedback on prices. They won't be lowered, but I may raise them as well. Most items sell for a flat rate of 5,000 Gold, I am considering doubling or tripling this to offset how ridiculously rich you can get by selling your stuff to her.

Installation

Copy the file "Gianna.esp" to your Oblivion\Data folder. When you open the Oblivion launch screen, instead of hitting play, click on "data", scroll down to find "Gianna.esp" and check it. Once you've done that, you can play as normal. If you have a Mod Manager of some kind, well, you know what to do already I imagine :)
