**** YOUR IMPERIAL CITY HOUSE REVAMPED! ****

This mod is an alternative version of Pigface's Imperial City House. While the original training hall and target-practice rooms are left largely untouched from those in the Imperial City House mod (pictures and details at that link), the other rooms have been given - to varying extents - a makeover. I really wanted the whole house to blend in more with the "grandness" of the training hall, and provide better utility for the more magically inclined character. So if, like me your have a character who:

Always wanted a their very own alchemy and magicking area!

...and really, really likes books

Would just love a sleek and modern Tamrielic kitchen with plenty of natural sunlight...

...and could really do with suitable places to stow their goods, both pretty...

...and practical.

(All safe and non-spawning, with the exception of one re-spawning practice-arrows chest in the training room)

*** Then this might be the Imperial City dwelling for you! :) ***
And the price is right...FREE*

* After the completion of Pigface's mini-quest.

*** VERSION 1.1-A & VERSION 1.1-B ***

I have finished a version of this mod which allows those amongst you who are already using Book Jackets: Oblivion and wish to use this mod, to use the textures and meshes you already have instead of downloading duplicates, making the size of the download a whole lot smaller!

This file is marked 1.1-B in the download section. It is assumed that all textures and meshes being used by Book Jackets: Oblivion are default, as *some* alternative covers may cause the library to look "odd". This is further explained in the READ-ME below.

In the process I found a few errors in my first mod [Version 1.0 uploaded yesterday, Saturday 8th of November]. 1.1-A is thus an updated version of 1.0. You can find it as a zip, with or without the textures and meshes in the download section. You can select either one depending on whether you already download the textures and meshes in the 1.0 zip.

Next, I hope to add the "secret tunnel entrance" suggested in the journals, and possibly a re-spawning low-level creature(s) which attacks to provide a facility to train the "block" skill.

Please let me know if I've stuffed up anything. This is my first attempt at anything mod related, so I'm keen to know if there's something I've done wrong...or could do better. While, I am a modding noob, I did take much care to ensure all the containers and movable items used have a new unique name (prefix YICH for anyone wanting to mod this mod) and in the case of containers, are non-respawning. It should also be good and clean!

** CHANGES IN THIS VERSION **

1.1-x

-*- A few books pointing to the wrong nif and dds files fixed.
-*- An erroneous skill-level-increase attribute on a library book removed.
-*- Small editing errors in Indexes fixed.

** THE REVAMP INCLUDES... **

These are the changes to Pigface's Original Imperial City House.

HOUSE FACADE:
-*- Turned the volume down a bit on the flora. Made it more quaint-english-gardeny!

GROUND FLOOR:
Minor redecorating.
"A Treatise on Bookkeeping" included on the bookshelf on this floor.
-*- Read it to learn 'bookkeeping' spells.
-*- 'Librarian's Lock' can be used on any movable object found in the house - i.e. clutter, food items, books.
-*- 'Librarian's Restoration' can be cast on any "locked" item to restore them to their previous locations.

PRIVATE QUARTERS:
Light and decor changed significantly.
Comprehensive library with books divided by genre and organized alphabetically by title.
Indexes provided for each genre including blurbs (Currently from this page. To be customized soon-ish)
Books included in this house do not offer skill-level-increases, nor can they be used for quests.
Also included are the master alchemy apparatus. If this is too cheat-y for you, they can be easily disabled by:
-*- Pressing "~" while in the game to bring up the console.
-*- Clicking on the item you wish to get rid of and then type "disable".
Plenty of storage to organize your belongings into!

BASEMENT:
Minor lighting adjustments
First landing redecorated with easy-to-access shelved storage chests.
Replaced that door to the training room, so it shouldn't be all wacky anymore.

TRAINING ROOM AND MEZZANINE:
Minor cosmetic changes only.
With the exception of some editing of the NPC journals found in the house, no other substantive changes have
been made to Pigface's original mod, including the mini-quest at the start.

** INSTALLATION **
(for both versions)

1. Make sure you have bookplacing.esm.
2. If you are installing Version B, ensure you have the Book Jackets: Oblivion default meshes and textures in their usual directories.
3. If you are currently using Pigface's Imperial City House mod, or "Imperial City House Mod Revamped" (Version 1.0)
*** STOP and read the notes below before continuing. ***

4. Unzip, the zipped file.
5. Drag and drop the folder marked "Data" to Bethesda > Oblivion (the place where your Data file lives).
6. If it prompts you to 'overwrite', select "Yes to all".
-*- All meshes and textures added by this mod are in folders labeled "YourICHBooks". There shouldn't be any issues with them overwriting something they shouldn't.
7. Activate "YourICHRevamped V-1.1.x" in whatever mod-manager you're using.
-*- It should be loaded after "oblivion.esm" and "bookplacing.esm"
-*- Neither version requires "book jackets oblivion.esm" to be activated, although it can be without causing any problems.
8. Rejoice! For your mod should *fingers-crossed* be right to go.

To find the house, fast travel to Taloz Plaza and walk to the end of the street to your immediate right. The house is near the end on the right and is pretty easy to recognize.

There's a note on the door...I think it's for you! :D

** SWITCHING FROM IMPERIAL CITY HOUSE [PIGFACES'S ORIGINAL VERSION] **

** OR YOUR IMPERIAL CITY HOUSE REVAMPED VERSION 1.0 **

If you're currently using Pigface's Imperial City House mod and want to try out this alternative, or if you have previously downloaded "Imperial City House Revamped Version 1.0" and want to switch to this one, you will need to follow these instructions FIRST in order to get this one working and not lose all your Oblivion belongings:

1. Remove anything you want to keep from the house, exit the house and save.
2. Exit Oblivion, and deactivate "ImperialCityHouse.esp".
3. If you are using Wrye Bash, you will need to "Rebuild Patch", then:
-*- Restart Oblivion, Re-save and exit.
-*- You can now install YourICHRevamped as per the installation instructions.
If you are using Oblivion Mod Manager:
-*- If you've followed step one and two listed directly above, you can now continue your installation per the installation instructions.
