I CHANGED THE PATHS OF SOME MESHES AND TEXTURES from the beta version, so, if you were playing it, you´ll have to extract the whole DATA folder to its place, and say "yes" if the game asks you to overwrite them. But you may use your savegames freely, they´ll work naturally

To update to version 2.3, just extract Jurassika.esp from Jurassika2.2.rar to Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Oblivion/Data folder and click YES to overwrite. None of your savegames will be lost in the process.

If you want a better landscape experience, you should run TESTES4Lodgenerator in the Testshambles world.

JURASSIKA LIGHT

This plugin is a lighter version of the mod Jurassika, for the ones who have been experiencing constant crashes. It corresponds to version 2.2 with two changes:

- There are no Triceratops and no Cynognathus

- The torosaurus´texture is a lighter one.

To install, you MUST have version 1.0 or higher installed. Just extract the Data folder to your Oblivion folder and click YES to overwrite.

FEATURES

-A new quest, 4-5 hours of gameplay in a new landmass, about 2/3 the size of the Shivering Isles, divided in 4 regions:The Savannah,The forest,The mangrove and volcanic terrain.There, you´ll find:

-4 new sequences of challenging dungeon-crawls

-3 natural caves, dwelled by creatures of the island

-The lost city of Squammata,with several interior cells to be explored and treasures to be found

-1 sunken ship

-The Great Pyramid

-9 new creatures (Most of them are re-textures of some of the game´s monsters)

INSTALLATION/GAME PLAYING
***********************************************************************

Extract the "Data" folder to your "Oblivion" folder (c:/Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Oblivion. If it asks to overwrite, just say "yes".

Add a check to Jurassika.esp and play. To start the quest, just go outdoors somewhere in the Shivering Isles (and NOT in the Fringe, NOT in New Sheoth, NOT in any interior cell). The quest will start automatically. Follow the red quest arrow to find the first ruin.

NOTE: there will be no quest arrow when you get to the quest´s last stage. You´ll have to find the final boss by yourself, baby...

Tips
***********************************************************************

- There are treasures hidden in the wilderness. Explore!

- In the naturalist´s camp there is a crate with some useful stuff for your exploration.

- The natural caves are darker than the Vanilla Games´. Bring a torch!

- This mod is not for low-levelled characters. Some monsters are very tough. Just in case: If you attract a creature and make him fight another one you can get rid of him more easily.

KNOWN BUGS/ISSUES

- Sometimes, quest and player arrows won´t show up in the outdoors map. But they´ll show up in your compass.
- At the top of the great Pyramid, in the brighter days, you´ll see something weird in the landscape (well, this will ONLY happen at the top of the Pyramid, in the brighter days..
- There´s an animation problem in the Triceratops, sometimes it will fight like a Biped creature. The creature is not mine, so I don´t know how to fix it

I have fixed all problems that were reported from the beta version.FEEDBACK REQUIRED!!! Nevertheless, problems may occur.You should report me of any problems you find.I cannot fix problems if you don´t report them for me. If you did NOT like this mod, before writing anything, just consider THIS:

I had to make everything by myself (Landmass, dungeons, creatures´new textures, quest) with no more than a few tips in forums to help me. It took me months of work and a lot of heartache to make this mod, so, before you tell me what you did not like or where I went wrong, you should know what CONSTRUCTIVE CRICTICISM means.

JURASSIKA was built upon the "test Shambles" world (the reason: problems with the heightmap editor hacked my original landmass, I had to appeal to another one. If you need to do something there (is there ANYTHING to be done there?) you should deactivate the mod.

Exploration Journal, day 1

We have crossed the magic door and arrived at the beach of an island. Soon after our arrival, we were attacked by Eryops, aggressive amphibians, which were killed after some minutes of fight. Frigo, the geologist, analyzed the rock formations and said the island is of volcanic origin. This is a brand new world to be explored, and although it seems to be dangerous, a brave biologist like me will not give up the task easily. We headed eastwards over the sand dunes, and found a strange grummite monument. A trail started at the monuments base and headed southwards through the rocky hills. We have no time to explore the island today; we have to set a base camp. Frigo has chosen a nice site behind a big mushroom tree in a lowland area, located east of the grummite monument.


Exploration Journal, day 2


This was our first day of true exploration. In order to accomplish our mission we spoiled all our invisibility potions. The island is infested with huge and aggressive monsters: torosaurus, sarcosuchus, triceratops… By our observations, we noticed that the north of the island is a lowland covered by a big savannah, whereas the hills of the south are moister and covered by a rainforest, full of giant ferns. We followed the trail which started at the grummite monument. The path was unclear, and we had to climb the hills to find our way at some spots. When we approached the littoral, we saw the towers of a big city in the horizon. I thought the dwellers of the island should be primitive, but now I know they have a civilization.
This place reminds me of an old legend from one of the civilizations which dwelled in the Shivering Isles before the last Greymarch: the legend of the lost city of Squammata, in Jurassika, the land that time has forgotten. If this is the place, we should avoid contact with the natives at any cost; the legend says they are very hostile.
Although the island is volcanic, Frigo says its geology is unique, with some parts of crystalline and sedimentary rocks. We reported the presence of four limestone caves, one of them with its entrance sealed by a locked door. Who sealed this door, and why? We tried to break through it, but we did not succeed. What should be hidden inside there?


Exploration Journal, day 3


We proceeded with the exploration, heading east. The center of this island presents volcanic features, and we found a big lake in the crater of what we believe to be the volcano which originated the island. At this spot, Frigo said his magic seismograph revealed a strange vibration coming from the underground, different from everything he had ever seen before. He said there’s something wrong with this place… The terrain was difficult to explore, and we could not reach the west end of the island. Moreover, we had to fight triceratops and torosaurus all along. Exhausted by the hard trek and the fierce fights, we had to return to our camp earlier than we expected.


Exploration Journal, day 4


Cursed be the Sarcosuchus!!! In the evening, as we cooked, the smell of our food attracted a couple of the bloody monsters. I know we would have problems with them sooner or later, but we were not prepared to TWO of them at once! We had to abandon the campsite and return to New Sheoth through the magic portal in the middle of the night! Tomorrow, we will return with more provisions.


Exploration Journal, day 5


We have returned from New Sheoth with more provisions and more gear. Now, no kind of monster will stop us! Later, I intend to go back to our abandoned camp and try to recover what was left. By now, I am very anxious, something tells me I am about to make a big discovery.
From what I have already seen, I know this land is lost in time… but is it the past or the future? What are the strange statues we have found in the island--- one of Akatosh, close to the beach, and even a of our lord Sheogorath, in the savannah… The natives here seem to worship grummites as sacred being, since there are many statues and monuments with offerings around, but why there are no traces of their existence in this island?e Frigo is very upset, he says he does not like this place, because something is wrong about it. Yesterday, he suggested we should abort the expedition, what would be madness!

Exploration Journal, day 6


Sheogorath be blessed!!!!We continued our expedition eastwards, and even in my wildest dreams I could not expect what we have found. In the east end of the island, we discovered a magnificent pyramid. It is colossal!!!! Which kind of civilization would build it, and with which purpose? There was a small altar with a teleport pad at its base, which took us to its top. There, we found a sacrificial altar with the blood and bones of a young argonian. His skull was smashed and the brains were eaten in a macabre ritual. Another magic gate was observed at the other side of the altar, but we could not activate it. Frigo believes it teleports people from within the pyramid to the outdoors, but not in the opposite way. So, there must be an entrance somewhere in the island. Tomorrow, we will search the surrounding area. I know it is somewhere, and I will find it at any cost!


Exploration Journal, day 7


I don’t know if I’ll make it to New Sheoth... my wounds bleed a lot… last night, we were attacked by a terrible creature… worse than anything we’ve seen in this island… the camp was destroyed…Frigo disappeared…the others are ALL dead…if someone is reading this journal, please listen to what I say…KEEP AWAY FROM THE GREAT PYRAMID!!!!!
