NOTE: I recommend using my mod TuStartingOptions, which gives you many more possibilites and leaves the main quest intact.

This simple (non-OBSE) mod has your character begin the game inside the captain's cabin of a shipwreck. The wreck is far from any settlements, but I don't want to say exactly where--just for fun. (You should figure out pretty quick where you are, by the landscape if not by the map.)

There's plenty of light in the cabin, to make it easier to make your character's face.
There's a chest that has everything in it a beginning character needs, as well as couple things laying around.
Getting out might be a little confusing. Just follow the light, and look for a hole in the hull.

If you return to the cabin later, the character generation menu will still pop up, for your convenience. (But 'showracemenu is really much more convenient, since it doesn't involve travel.)

I'm not sure yet, but since it never completes the character gen quest, I think it will keep preserve your experience when you use showracemenu etc.

The Main Quest is completely cut off. You can never get it. A future release will probably change this so if you go to prison in the IC, then it picks up as usual.

I also hope to add an un-destroyed Kvatch that gets destroyed when the main quest starts. But that certainly won't be for a long while.

TuAltStart-NoPCEd-- 9/12/08. Does not edit the PC "NPC", to reduce conflicts.

CONFLICTS:
The standard file (TuAltStart_01) will conflict with any mod that edits or adds a script to the player character (I noticed this because I use Primary Needs). If you are having a conflict, use TuAltStart-NoPCEd. The only difference is that you'll begin with the standard prison gear instead of sailor's clothes. Or in theory, you could just disable Alternate Start after you've left the shipwreck.
It will conflict with parts of certain landscape mods, because it adds a door to an exterior cell.

This mod is all my own work; but I salute those who've made alternate start mods before me.
You can use this however you like; just give me credit, please.
