More Immersive Sound Edited V.1.0
by Brumbek

*********************************

This mod edits the sound files of MIS to make them way better (removed noise, removed hums, corrected fade-ins and fade-outs, reduced harsh volume levels to be in line with background sound effects).

Basically, it makes MIS much better. So install it, do it now!

************
INSTALLATION
************

Unpack this to your Oblivion\Data folder.

Use either:

"MIS.esp"The base mod that tweaks the in game ambient sounds

OR

"MIS low wind.esp"
The base mod with lowered wind sound level

Only use one of these!

Then decide if you want the optional part. Previously, these sounds were kind of obnoxiously loud and non-immersive (alien machine sounds in dungeons), but now have been changed to be lore friendly and to fit into the background. Try it and later remove it if you notice these sounds and don’t like them.

Optional Part
-------------
"More Immersive Sound Optional Part.esp"
The optional part adds for now 17 new sounds in nature and dungeons.
It adds a lot of game atmosphere both outside and inside.
The outdoor sounds are linked to scripts that distribute it according to weather and day time.
The indoor sounds are attached to some object.
I replaced statics with activators so that I can attach scripts to them.
Some of the Dungeons ambient sounds are now 3d positioned!
The optional part is still under construction so feel free to give me your comments.

DETAILED ABOUT
**************

More Immersive Sound (MIS) is fantastic but quite a few of its sound files have issues. For example, they don’t fade in and out properly but abruptly start and cut off. Also, several sounds are poor quality and static and noise can be heard when they play. Moreover, many of the sounds are simply too loud, and therefore, actually are abrasive and hinder immersion rather than help. Such issues have been noted by a number of players.

Therefore, all I have done is edit most of the sound files to make them fit in much more seamlessly to the Oblivion world. I tweaked many sounds, a few I replaced with new sounds, and others I removed noise from and fixed some DC offset issues (causes hums).

Basically, the end result is this is a MUCH better version. Anyone who uses MIS should use this version.

And you DO NOT need any other files. I’ve included the entire MIS package including the MIS FIX into this archive. I did this for convenience. All credit goes to the original author, Deckard, and those who he lists in the credits.

Note: I DID NOT touch the .esp files. Only the sound waves have been edited.

About this mod
--------------
This mod tweaks the stock in game ambient sounds to improve immersion and the nature feeling.
I really like to play with the music but I want to hear and feel the nature around me.
I was disappointed that even when maxing the sound fx level and putting the music volume down
I couldn't achieve the result I was looking for. Now you can hear animals, city sounds...

There are 3 esp files bundled in this mod
