Oblivion Modder's Meshing Tutorial

Written by jclyde6108

Contact me at tesnexus or CanadianIce&Howndog forums with any questions or comments.

I don't promise to have all the answers, but perhaps an illustrated example focused on meshing with blender
will help the would-be Blender user get up to speed given the confusing plethora of tutorials available.
If you are an experienced Blender user, you may not get anything at all out of this tutorial until later
chapters on rigging and uvmapping. And even then you probably have something to teach me.

I run Blender 2.45.7 out of the box with no theme mods.
If you are running a different version your mileage may vary.

I also use GIMP 2 with the latest normal map and dds plugins, the blender NIF scripts (2.2.6), NIFskope 1.0.6, and
DXTbmp amongst other tools. I highly recommend all of them.

The ultimate purpose of this tutorial is to illustrate how I produced the meshes included in my modding resource.
The few tricks I may have learned shall be covered as I go.

This tutorial involves a ton of screen shots at my native 1920x1200 resolution in JPEG format.
A picture is worth a thousand words.

It is organized into chapters where we perform one major step or operation in each chapter, one mesh at a time.
It is in text format with screenshots included as separate JPEGs just to avoid file format issues.

This tutorial will concentrate on modding for the TeamFF Beta 0.51b female body and the Roberts v4 muscular
male body. Having both of those mods loaded or at least available on your PC is required to get the most out of
this tutorial.

This first chapter is really just preparatory work for the real meat of the tutorial that starts in chapter two.

I shall do a chapter every so often and add them as a separate file to make changes easier. I shall also include
any support files and the final product from each chapter provided that permission issues are not involved.

Thanks to TeamFF for the Beta 0.51b body.
Thanks to Robert for the V4 muscular body.
Thanks to CuteUnit for the posable skeleton.
Thanks to the authors of Blender, GIMP, NIFtools, DXTbmp, Crazybump, and any other tools used.

Linking to this tutorial at other sites is fine.
Please do not upload it elsewhere or alter the content of the tutorial in whole or part without
contacting me for permission first.

Use of the provided content in this tutorial, including any NIF files or blend files, in the production of your
own mods is fine with me. Just credit me (jclyde6108) as requested.
You also need to contact Acidrain226 from TeamFF, _Robert and CuteUnit separately for their permission as I do not
own their files but am using them here with their permission.

I have not heard from CuteUnit and hear that she has departed the community. In the event that she returns and
disagrees with my inclusion of her skeleton in this mod, it will happily be removed.
