Description
===========

This mod adds 20 new creature companions based on Blackie's CM Partners mod. These companions are three wolfs Kazan, Grey Wolf, and Ghost, a tiger Shere Khan, a panther Bagheera, a leopard Namir, a snow leopard Fahd, a polar bear Yukon, a bear Baloo, two dogs White Fang and Tim, a black and silver unicorn Black Beauty, three deers Ram, Niabi and Bambi, three white deers Sar, Sidhe and Falina, a fox Tod and a horse Babieca.

You can find Kazan, Grey Wolf, Shere Khan and Bagheera at the Arboretum (Imperial City).
You can find Ghost, Fahd and Yukon in Bruma, at the Castle's courtyard or its surroundings.
You can find Namir, Baloo, White Fang and Black Beauty in Anvil, in front of the Dibella's Chapel, near the gate that leads to the Castle, or its surroundings.
You can find Tim, Tod, Ram, Niabi, Bambi, Sar, Sidhe, Falina and Babieca at the Green Emperor Way (Imperial City).

To recruit and interact with them go into sneak mode and then activate them (like if you were to steal). A window will pop up showing you the options you can choose.

Even though I've set their intelligence to 100, animals seem to have some difficulty in going through doors, at least I cannot make them go through the Arboretum doors after recruiting them. If that is also your case, fast travel to any location and they should follow you without problems after doing it.

All of them will level with you being always 1 level less than you. All deers and the fox have a lower confidence than the rest of the animals, that means that there is a chance they will choose to run away instead of fighting, but they are able to fight.

I've set all of them to Essential, so they cannot die.If you want to change them to Non-essential, you can use the mod Set Essential Actors Needs OBSE. It adds a spell that allows you to change the Essential tag of any NPC or actor.

I have set map markers for them, to make it easy for you to find them if they get lost. To see the map markers, select the Parterns quest in your diary.

I've given them names from books I loved when I was a child or names that just sounded good to me. If you don't like them you can change their names easily:
* open the console
* click on the animal whose name you want to change (make sure you've selected the right one. In the top of the screen you should see a message like "Shere Khan" (2a002a52c)
* type in the console setactorfullname "New name" (where New name is the name you want for it to have) and press enter
* close the console and now your pet should be renamed as you wanted.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Blackie has uploaded a new version of his great CM Partners mod (version 1.9) that corrects some of the bugs that existed regarding beasts companions, like their high speed or the fact that they didn't attack your enemies.
Please, download that version, and deleted my script patch file as it is not longer required. Version 1.9 of CM Partners will be fully compatible with your existing companions.

The mod requires:
* the latest Oblivion Patch (1.2.0.214 or higher).
* CM Partners Mod Basic


Recommended mods
================

I recommend Glenvar Castle, apart from being one of the best quest and house mods, the castle has large rooms and yard where your beast companions can feel at home.


Install
=======


1. Install the version of CM Partners Mod Basic you prefer (read the mod's readme for more information). It is required that you active both the CMPartners.esm and the CMPartners.esp (no other .esp is required).


Manually:

2. Extract the files of this mod to a temporary location and chek the folder structure.

3. Copy to (install folder)\Oblivion\Data\:
.- the AsharaCMBeasts.esp
.- the meshes folder
.- the textures folder
If asked if you want to overwrite existing files say "Yes to all".

4. Start Oblivion Launcher, click 'Data Files' and place a checkmark beside the .esp file.

Using the OMOD version:

3. Place the omod in your (install folder)\Oblivion\OBMM\mods\ folder

4. Start Oblivion Mod Manager

5. Select the AsharasCMBeasts OMOD, and press the "Activate" button.



Upgrade
=======

To upgrade from version 1.0 or higher to version 3.1:
* Copy to (install folder)\Oblivion\Data\:
.- the AsharaCMBeasts.esp
.- the meshes folder
.- the textures folder
If asked if you want to overwrite existing files say "Yes to all".



Uninstall
=========

Manually:
1. Start Oblivion Launcher, click Data Files, uncheck the .esp file(s).
2. Delete:
.- the .esp file associated with the mod.
.- all files that begin by "ashara" in the following folders:
* \meshes\creatures\dog\
* \meshes\creatures\mountainlion\
* \meshes\creatures\horse\
* \meshes\creatures\bear\
* \meshes\creatures\deer\
* \textures\creatures\dog\
* \textures\creatures\mountainlion\
* \textures\creatures\horse\
* \textures\creatures\bear\
* \textures\creatures\deer\



Using the OMOD version:

1. Start Oblivion Mod Manager

2. Select the AsharasCMBeasts OMOD, and press the "Deactivate" button


Incompatibility
===============

None that I am aware of. As it only adds new creatures, there shoudn't be any incompatibilities with any other mod.
