RELEASE NOTES
==================
v0.75.1
The "Hold You Over" Edition
-replaced missing .kf files for marti smoke anims that was in a previous version
-(if you just want the missing files search in the parent folder for: "xskillanim.kf" and "xssmokepipe.kf" and copy the same exact folder path into your game directory)
-combined all into one file with Walkthrus and all smoking anims as with previous versions
-changed/corrected the unique ogre names to "hell frost ogre"
-(uses v0.75 omod conversion, readme & walkthrus which are still mostly current)
This mod has a history of missing one item or another from the main file in its different versions but this is hopefully all fixed right now. While working on finishing the final episode of this mod I am releasing this "hold you over" version which now has all files in one place and nothing (hopefully) is missing. If you encounter any errors or anything seems to be missing then please let me know.
Shrine Bug Fix
5/6/13
If you get stuck in the shrine during episode 3 you can try the patch file, otherwise skip it for now. This is just a temporary fix until I find time to actually solve the issue. If you're feeling particularly generous, you can let me know whether or not you needed the patch and if it worked if you did.
The guides/walkthroughs are also now available as a separate download since I forgot to pack them in with the OPT version of the file archive.
v0.75OPT
2/5/13
Finally got around to auto-cleaning the .esp file with TES4EDIT and also PyFFI'ed all meshes. I left the old version (un-optimized) up as well in case there are any problems with the new.
If you are here to update from the un-optimized version all you need to overwrite your existing files are the .esp file and all the meshes in the meshes folder while keeping all the filepaths the same. But make a new save before doing so just in case.
Also, I did not update the file version in the readme or added this note to the readme. I may have fixed some minor spelling mistakes though.

INFO
===========================
An ancient and reclusive sect of Necromancers returns to Cyrodiil after you uncover a special artefact created by their wanted traitor... Join one of two new opposing factions and earn unique upgradable homes, items, and companions with special commands. Rise in your new ranks through currently 3 of 4 branching Episodes with tons of story, dialogue, background, and special bonuses...
BASIC FEATURES
- flexible Episode 1 Quest design - learn of it randomly (though unlikely, one of two ways: direct or indirect) or use either QUICKSTART or WALKTHRU guides to determine your own level of initiation into the LEGEND (you can also stumble upon certain items randomly but you may still need to talk to the vanilla NPC to advance the quest)
- full thief potential to manipulate the trades in Episode 1 however you wish (e.g. monies paid for certain items can be stolen back)
- please do not read beyond this bullet if you prefer the totally RANDOM approach, though please know that it is highly unlikely you will encounter an NPC that can actually point this quest out for you. There are only two, one vanilla and one of mine who wanders at certain times between two major towns... I recommend at least reading up through QUICKSTART below...
- gain a new artefact with special enchantments, unique down to model and texture, that has the ability to turn many boring and highly-reoccuring oblivion items into something new and useful, the potency of which is also determined by your character's level (maxed at level 20+)
- in Episode 2, choose between 2 new unique opposing factions, good or evil, giving way to a branching storyline
- excellent replay value if you play both good and evil characters; neutral-tendancies can swap between them in different saves if you know where to save before choosing your faction
- depending on your newly chosen faction, keep two of currently three possible new companions, each with extensive dialogue, romance, and sub-quests that can open up unique dress options and special commands for each (the romance side is brief considering the scope of this mod, but is not gender specific to your character)
- two new players homes acquired through Episodes 2-3, both totally upgradeable, the second of which is completely original and contains an extensive and highly detailed cave-chasm tomb
- full AI packages for all unique NPCs and companions who can be switched between the 2 players homes upon command; each of the first two companions has complete "at home" packages for each home
- "renew gear" scripts for companions no matter what they have at the time, activated automatically at the end of certain packages (or at whim upon certain unlockable commands at the end of Episode 3)
- companions auto-sneak and auto-draw weapons when following you, just like Neeshka, though their sneak skill is not great considering none of them are thief-types
- unlock the full story a variety of ways, through dialogue with different characters as well as various texts
FLEXIBILITY
The companions use their own clothes and armor packed with this mod and have special "dress" options in regard to these which can be unlocked during the course of the quests. These are a direct reflection of their personalities and character and they would prefer not to have them tampered with. You can, however, give them your own clothing and armor if you really want, and it WILL work with their "renew gear" scripts, however you will need a mod like "Companion Share & Recruit" to access their personal inventories. Though please note this may break the unlockable "dress" options if you remove their original items, depending on what it is. It doesn't break the quests or anything, just may disable certain dress dialogue. I suggest you try them out as they are first. Then once you tried all the dress options, change their gear if you like. Save your game before doing so just in case.
Companion 1 (good) best with blunt weapons + light armor
Companion 2 (evil) best with blade weapons + heavy armor
Companion 3 (either) best with blunt weapons + light armor
REQUIREMENTS
- HGEC or Exnem's body
- Latest Oblivion Patch
- OBSE 20+
- Universal Silent Voice (without this the dialogue will fly by)
The following mods are supported but NOT required:
RECOMMENDED MODS
- Unofficial Oblivion Patch (gives you the hugely useful "fix companion double-face bug" spell)
- Talk With Yours Hands so that you can see more of who you're talking to
- See You Sleep
- Fair x2 Spawns for increased enemies and loot, this mod doubles most vanilla enemy leveled lists
- Advanced Mark and Recall to get between the various quest locations more quickly, which can be used for up to 9 different locations (unless you strictly prefer the open road)
- Soolie's Better Enchantment Effects
- Dremora Face Texture
- HGEC female dremora textures (Not sure where I got this or who the author is because there is no readme and I couldn't find anything when searching. Check the screenshots here and if you know then please send me the link.)
- FormID Finder for troubleshooting mod conflicts in-game. If you see something that may be out of place, you can check to see what mod's esp file it comes from.
CONFLICTS
- One vanilla dungeon in particular is repeatedly used so there may be some minor conflicts/overlapping with mods like OOO, but nothing simple console commands shouldn't be able to fix. If you find anything particularly troublesome let me know.
- The main artefact requires the use of the original game bone pieces. If you use a mod that alters these pieces you might have to use Wyrebash to remedy.
- The slave chains clip on the HGEC body a little more than expected although it's not hugely noticable. I think that's because those clothes were made for Exnem's original body mod and bits were slimmer. If you know of an update for the slave chains please let me know.
- Any mod that adds entrances in the Talos district SW corner may overlap with my entrance (my entrance is enabled from the start of this mod but you won't be able to get too far inside until Episode 3).
QUICKSTART TIPS
- befriend Daenlin (Bravil, Archer's Paradox shop owner) and speak to him about "Legends"
- sleep is progressively your friend when moving between quests, and only inside each new home once you earn them (make sure they are fully upgraded and the last quest is completed first)
- only three of four total episodes/quests are complete in this version (v0.75)
- recommended for level 20+ chars but feel free to try at lower levels if you desire a greater challenge
- if Daenlin is for some reason dead in your savegame when you load this you can still complete the first quest but you'll have no idea where to look
- though not required, for best use of the initial artefact, play a char that uses a bow and has blade proficiency
- start/keep gathering all bones
- if you get stuck consult one of the WALKTHRU guides
- if other mods add monsters to the first home after you earn it, and you don't want them to respawn, use the 'disable' console command on each one, dead or alive (not sure about the DLL mod if they wander in randomly but you can let me know how it affects my locations if you have it) Note: my mod already gives you the option to disable the vanilla-placed monsters there towards the end of Episode 2
INSTALLATION
- This mod is OBMM ready, otherwise extract everything inside the data folder into your oblivion/data folder. Do not include the "omod conversion data" folder if you're not using OBMM.
- All textures and meshes follow the original folder paths (except for Ramirez's bonearrow textures which I had to re-path to get to work). This means that if you have any of the original mods installed you may choose "no" when asked to overwrite anything you already have (the files and paths should all be exactly the same). (Note: Some of these were taken from Kendo 2's Oona's Outfitters so they may follow those folder paths if different from the original - I'm not sure.)
Upgrade-
If you installed any previous versions you will need to uninstall it, clean-save, and then install this mod and start from scratch. If you decorated either home or stashed any items there not unique to this mod, grab them all first before uninstalling. You will lose any bone arrows you have but there are in-game ways in these quests that you can catch up if you keep your eyes open and you're smart. (See WALKTHRUs for hints and spoilers.)
Uninstall-
Delete the "Legends Baleful Eye.esp" in the Data folder. Also delete any of the meshes and texture subfolders if you don't already have those original mods installed. You can look in the original folders of this mod to see what is where. Otherwise just deactivate and delete in OBMM.
-Patching Note-
Since this mod has been overhauled I can't see patching working smoothly and some cool new features may be lost on you. So start over and prepare to reap every reward!
Additional and more detailed info may be found in the readme.
