Description:
For new characters who haven't been invited into the Thieves Guild yet.
Because the vanilla way you get invited into the Thieves Guild seems very lame--why would they want to recruit someone who gets caught? This mod changes that so you get the invitation when your sneak and security skills are apprentice level (25+), and after you've picked at least 30 locks.
There are also two more challenging versions:
Skill-based Thieves Guild Invitation_HARD, which requires the player to have picked at least 50 locks, and pickpocketed at least 20 items.
and
Skill-based Thieves Guild Invitation_HARDER, which requires the player to have picked at least 80 locks, and pickpocketed at least 40 items.
Gameplay and notes:
You can track the number of locks you've picked and items pickpocketed in the part of the game menu that lists various stats of your character, such as fame, infamy, bounty, ect. It's under the right hand tab.
When you've met the requirements, it's best to hang around in a city for a while, especially the Imperial City since the NPC who gives you the invitation lives there.
There is still a comment by one of the Thieves Guild NPCs that refers to you having served jail time. Because the new CS won't create lip synch files for new voice files, and the older version doesn't even load Oblivion, I just decided to leave it alone.
Installation:
Put Skillbased Thieves Guild Invitation.esp into your Oblivion/Data Files directory, and activate the mod in the Oblvion Launcher. Use only one Skillbased Thieves Guild Invitation esp.
