Yana fled Arthcamu’s house, pleased that her mentor had finally got his just deserts. In fact, for the final period of her training Yana has been her own mentor – he only provided the facilities. Aged just 15, Yana became an expert in lock-picking but, alas, she was not yet as good at covering her tracks. Arthcamu’s cries for help and the sounds of fighting attracted the attention of a nearby guard; Yana was quickly found and thrown into the Imperial Prison.
But the Thief is a lucky star sign. It turned out that Yana’s cell contaied a secret entrance to a passage used by the royal family as an escape route in times of danger. Soon she was free as a wind and ready to put her lockpicking skills to the test.
Meanwhile the story of her revenge on Arthcamu became known far and wide. It even served as a base of a book by Porbert Lyttumly, “The locked room”. As it usually happens, it got embellished along the way and some bits got missed out. For example, the book fails to mention that when Yana placed the chain with the key on the vampire ancient’s neck, the monster avoke from his slumber and bit her, passing on the curse. Although since she joined the Dark brotherhood, she thinks of it as more of a blessing…
