Description
===========
The Dark Arts is my attempt to create a unique style of Necromancy where you had to be careful in what you say in control of your pets, it's not supposed to be easy. Also, I had more than a few ideas for spells as well.

This mod unfortunately requires Shivering Isles, by the way.

In v0.42 there are 6 books of spells available, two for each path. The spells available in this release are...

Necromancy
----------
Corpse Preparation - You manually clean a corpse for supplies (v0.42 update, their inventory is added to yours as well)

The Basic Ghost

Flame Spectre

Flescraft
---------
Patch Wounds - Use Mort Flesh to heal some health cheaply

Minor Fleshcraft - Use this to change things to flesh, or vice versa, or pull some flesh from yourself. And yes, it'll hurt.

Eyes of the Cat - Toggleable Night-Eye

Create War Ghoul - Turn the Basic Zombie into a War Ghoul, with the right words and items.

Gills of the Fish - Toggleable Water Breathing

Fleshcraft - Allows you to more or less transfer some physical stats to others (Strength, Speed, Agility, Endurance, and Health) I.E., +10 Str for -15 Speed, 5 Health = 1 Stat for this. (So either +50 or -75)

Minor Bonecraft - Make bones out of bonemeal, along with some armor and weapons, and Blood Stones

Soulcraft
---------

Create Petty Soulgem - Use Ectoplasm and a Blood Stone to make a Petty Soulgem

Ectoplasmic Absorbtion - Use Ectoplasm to restore Magicka

Ectoplasmic Expulsion - Sacrifice Health and Magicka to create Ectoplasm

Soul Sight - Toggleable Detect Life

Create Lesser Soulgem - 2 Blood Stones and 5 Ectoplasms to create a Lesser Soulgem

Create Wraith - With the right words and items the basic Ghost becomes a Wraith.

Soul Absorbtion - Once a day power to hurt opponents by 3 per second, and to restore 3 magicka on yourself per second, for 50 seconds

Soulcraft - Like Fleshcraft, but for mental stats (Intelligence, Magicka, Personality, and Willpower) Again, 5 Magicka = 1 Stat

Soul Void - Almost permanent Soul Trap

Spellcraft - Who needs altars of Spellmaking, anyway?

Location
========
The first books are available in a specific cursed room in a specific cursed house, in the back of the room, a mini-quest will let you know where the other books are when you're skilled and leveled enough.

Details

Install
=======
1. Extract the files to a temporary location.
2. Examine the folder structure and make corrections where necessary.
3. Copy files to (install folder)\Oblivion\Data\
4. Start Oblivion Launcher, click 'Data Files', place a checkmark beside the .esp file(s).

Uninstall
=========
1. Start Oblivion Launcher, click Data Files, uncheck the .esp file(s).
2. Delete the files/folders associated with the mod.

Upgrade
=======
1. Take off the old Dark Arts
2. Install the new Dark Arts
3. Play. The other books are still at the spot.

Incompatibility
===============
The only problem I can see is if another mod uses the Vanilla Bones, or the maps that I've placed the sets of books at.

Known Issues or Bugs
====================
There seems to be some bugs if you take too much out of Magicka with Soulcraft, where it shoots your Magicka up to 65k, if that happens, the game will automatically rid you of all of the Magicka draining soulcraft effects, which will set your Magicka back to normal. I don't know quite how to keep that from happing yet, though.

Licensing/Legal

This mod will eventually be released in two versions, a stand alone mod with only the books and the spells as a modders resource for those of you who want to make a Necromancy guild but not a magic system, or the way it is now with a minor quest to get the players the books.
