DESCRIPTION
===========

An action horror quest plugin for Bethesda's "Elder Scolls IV - Oblivion".

The player will have to deal with an ancient twisted evil, well hidden in the ages,
through a journey in time and space and the hellish kingdom of the "Cursed Ones".

This mod's story is continued in Gates To Aesgaard Episode 2, although Episode 1 can
be played on its own to a satisfactory conclusion.

The quest is estimated to take about 4 or more hours depending on style of play.



SUGGESTIONS FOR THE MAXIMUM EXPERIENCE OF THIS QUEST
====================================================

1. I call this plugin a "War of Images".
I've spent hundreds of hours trying to create just the right atmosphere at each location of this project.
The lighting is 60% of the experience so.... It is recommended that you don't use "Nighteye Effects"!
The only result it can cause is to spoil the experience you would have without it.
You will find enough torches to pass through this quest.

2. Try to leave your companion at home this time.
Expect that a companion will be lost in the "Abyss" stage,
Either by attracting the immortal Abyss creatures or by falling to "Nowhere".

3. Do not use console cheat codes because they will probably break the quest line and cause failure to complete it.



INSTALL
=======

Installing the mod using the dedicated installer:
-------------------------------------------------
1. Use the installer to extract the files into your oblivion directory.
2. Check the GTAesgaard.esp in your favourite mod loader.
3. Play.


Install the mod manually:
-------------------------
1. Extract the contents of the downloaded archive to your Oblivion\Data folder.
2. Check the GTAesgaard.esp in your favourite mod loader.
3. Play.


It is recommended that you install the mod either using the installer or using a mod manager (Wrye Bash or OBMM).
The manual install archive is in a format supported by Wrye Bash's BAIN, and you can create an OMOD for
installation via OBMM if you wish, although no OMOD Conversion Data is supplied.

Also included in the archive is an Extras folder containing some screenshots and wallpapers relating to the mod. These are not required for the mod to function.



UNINSTALL
=========

Uninstall the mod using the dedicated uninstaller:

Use the "Unistall_GTA_EP1.exe" located in your Oblivion\Data folder.


Uninstall the plugin manually:
------------------------------
1. Delete the following files from your Oblivion\Data folder:
GTAesgaard.esp
GTAesgaard.bsa

2. Delete the following files from your Oblivion\Data\Video\ThePriest909 folder:
A909GTAVision1.bik
A909GTAVision3.bik

3. If your Oblivion\Data\Video\ThePriest909 folder is now empty, you can delete it too.

4. Delete the following files from your Oblivion\Data\Docs folder:
Gates To Aesgaard Episode 1 Readme.txt
Gates To Aesgaard Episode 1 Walkthrough.txt


If you installed the mod using a mod manager, use the mod manager to uninstall it.

- Removed XLOD records from xx00766D, xx00766E, xx0041A4, xx00407E, xx003DF9, xx003E28, xx003E2C and xx003E2D as they are not applied in game and cause error messages to display when the mod is loaded in TES4Edit.
- Corrected the eye meshes being referenced for the A909Undead race as they did not match with the available eyes.
