- Spoiler: List of Belts

~

INTRODUCTION:

Adds a special belt that you can attach travel editions of books to. The belts can be bought at Red Diamond Jewelry and the books at The Mystic Emporium, both in the Imperial City Market District.

There are two different versions included with this mod: Tail and Amulet Slot. Please read the Installation instructions carefully. Also, there is a Low Gloss version avaliable. It should be located on the same page you downloaded this mod from. The Low Gloss version takes the shiny sparkle off the belts, so download it if you don't like the really shiny chains.

~

DESCRIPTION:

Now you can have a stylish belt with your diary, holy book, or guide hanging at your side. There are a wide variety of books to choose from and they vary in expense depending on the enchantments they give. Both books for good characters and evil characters are provided, as well as ones for those gray areas.

You can buy empty belts in gold or silver at Red Diamond Jewelry for 1000 septim. These can be worn by themselves if you like, but are meant to have a book added to them. Once you place a book on a belt, you cannot take it off, so choose carefully.

Special Travel Editions of several books are avaliable at the Mystic Emporium. On their own, these books do not do anything, but are quite expensive and hold special powers when equipped on a book belt. There are also a selection of Travel Books in various colours if you'd like to create your own belt. These normal books are relatively inexpensive and do not hold any special power; you will need to enchant the resulting book belt yourself. You can also purchase a selection of Spellbooks that give you different abilities in different schools of magic.

These belts are designed to go over armor, but should work over a robe just as well. They, however, will not look good over clothing or tight outfits as the belt will "hover" off the body a bit since it doesn't fit.

REQUIREMENTS:

There are no special requirements for this mod, but it was made with the TESCS v1.2, so you will have problems if you try to edit the ESP's on your own on an older version.

~

INSTALLATION:

This directory should contain the following:
kikaibookbelts-tail.esp
kikaibookbelts-amulet.esp
meshes folder
textures folder
This readme

Copy the meshes and textures folders into your Oblivion\Data\ directory. Choose which type of book belts you want and copy that ESP into your Data Directoy as well. Notice there are two versions and these change the slot the belts use, so choose which one best fits your playstyle.

After you've copied everything over, check the esp in Data Files within your Oblivion Launcher and you're set!

If you wish to uninstall this mod, just uncheck the esp. Your character should suffer no ill-effects from the mod being removed.

The files added are in the following locations:
Oblivion/Data/Textures/clutter/books/kikaibookbelts
Oblivion/Data/Textures/menus/icons/kikaibookbelts
Oblivion/Data/Meshes/clutter/books/kikaibookbelts
Oblivion/Data/Meshes/armor/kikaibookbelts
Oblivion/Data/kikaibookbelts-tail.esp
Oblivion/Data/kikaibookbelts-amulet.esp

USING THE MOD:

To equip a book on a belt, go into your inventory and click on the book (it will be under Misc items). It will ask you to exit your inventory, then once you do a messagebox will pop up asking what material (gold or silver) you're using for this belt. After you make the material selection, another messagebox will come up asking if you'd like to use that book on your belt. If you change your mind, you can click "No", otherwise click "Yes". Either one will show a final messagebox depending on what selection you made. The messageboxes may take a second or two to pop up, so give them time!

You will need an empty Book Belt in your inventory and it doesn't matter if it's equipped or not as the mod will re-equip it once the book is in it. Equipping a book on a belt removes the book and an empty belt from your inventory and adds that specific belt.

Some of the Spellbooks give "Togglable" spells. What these are is a spell that you cast once and it remains as a constant effect on the player until it is cast again, which turns it off. Taking the book belt off will also remove the spell.

~

KNOWN ISSUES AND BUGS:

- There are no known bugs at this time. If you discover any, please let me know!

- If the armor you're wearing does not allow the Amulet to be shown, the belt will not appear with that version of the mod and you should use the Tail Slot version.
