NOTE: Shining Flame Atronachs is superseded by Shining Creatures, which does the same thing but better as it leaves the vanilla Light spell alone. It also does more as it has the option to affect Frost Atronachs and Will-o-the-wisps as well. But you can also have it only affecting Flame Atronachs if you want.

I'll keep Shining Flame Atronachs up, if it doesn't get too confusing. For one thing it has a couple of mod patches that aren't included in the Shining Creatures release.

01 Description

__________________________________________

Modification for The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion.

Adds a changed Light spell to the Flame Atronachs Flame Effect, making them shine with a flame-like orange light.

Optional plugins add support for the the Flame Atronach Familiars in DLCFrostcrag - Wizard's Tower, the Flame Atronachs in b3w4r3's Elemental Summon Amulets V3 and Razia's incarnation as a Flame Atronach in Forsaken's Friendly Fire. All credit goes to the original authors. I've only added the effect that makes them shine.

02 Version History

__________________________________________

1.5 [2009-11-10] Reinstated the dependency of Shining Flame Atronachs_DLCFrostcrag.esp on DLCFrostcrag.esp as it didn't work without it. Also deleted all unnecessary records from Shining Flame Atronachs_DLCFrostcrag.esp with TES4Edit so it doesn't override the Fog Near settings in DLCFrostcrag - Unofficial Patch.esp.

1.4 [2009-11-08] Updated the included and adjusted version of Forsaken515's Friendly Fire to 2.02. Edited the Readme.

1.3 [2009-11-06] Added support for installation with Wrye Bash's BAIN or OBMM. Edited the installation guide. Edited the Readme. Removed the construed dependency of Shining Flame Atronachs_DLCFrostcrag.esp on DLCFrostcrag.esp.

1.2 [2007-08-12] Added support for b3w4r3's Elemental Summon Amulets V3 and Forsaken515's Friendly Fire 1.5b. Edited the installation guide for clarity.

1.1 [2007-08-09]
Gave the changed Light spell effects a new record in order to make it work if using other mods that do the same, i.e. Lost Paladins of the Divines, for instance. Removed the optional plugin with the default light effect. Increased the radius of the Light spell effect slightly again.

1.0 [2007-08-06]
Final version, unless something comes up. Reduced the radius of the Light spell effect slightly. Changed format for the Readme.

0.2 [2007-08-05]
Changed the Light spell effect to flickering and more flame-like orange.

0.1 [2007-08-04]
Added support for the Flame Atronach Familiars in DLCFrostcrag - Wizard's Tower.

Beta [2007-08-03]
Initial version.

04 Conflicts - Load Order

__________________________________________

Shining Flame Atronachs changes the Light spell, which means that all instances of the Light spell will have a different color than in the original game. This is unfortunate as I'd prefer to have the original Light spell to be unchanged if possible, but I have found no way around it.

The plugin will conflict with any other mod changing the Light spell. The one loaded last will win, so if you want Flame Atronachs to shine with the adjusted flame-like color, make sure that Shining Flame Atronachs.esp is loaded later than other mods changing the Light spell. I'd recommend using BOSS to set the load order.

Shining Flame Atronachs affects some other mods unintentionally, as all creatures that have the Flame Effect used by the Flame Atronachs will shine. In most cases this can almost be seen as a bonus feature, as the effect is mostly used for appropriate creatures. For example, the flaming enemies in MMM, such as the Flaming Skeletons, will shine as the Flame Atronachs. In some cases, though, it does look bad, as with the Soulpus from Oblivion WarCry, which is meant to shine with the original, whiter color.
