This mod is useful for ONLY v1.2 and up! If you are running a version prior to v1.2 then you DO NOT NEED THIS.
This mod is meant for visual affect only. Use if you don't like how v1.2 caused all the guards to carry bows around.

This mod adds scripts to all the Guards to make them wear their swords when they aren't being attacked. When they are attacked they can choose what weapon they want to use depending on range. You may notice the change over the first time through, but afterwards you shouldn't see them switch.

Note: It can cause slowdowns temporarily, ( while the script changes to let them use either bow or sword) if you attack a large group of guards. Also, all guard class characters will now drop a Ceremonial Bow and Arrow. This is part of this mod, and nothing to be worried about.

Installation Instructions:

Extract to your Oblivion\Data Directory
Open your Oblivion Launcher
Select Data Files
Then click so an X appears next to NoMoreGuardsWithBowsv1.2.esp
Click OK
PLAY!


Known Issues:
The first time through you will still see bows for a brief moment while the scripts are setup. Afterwards you should not see bows unless the guards are being attacked.
If you are running any mods that add non-standard weapons, and the guards are defaulting to carrying bows: Instead of carrying bows they will instead carry nothing. This is due to the fact that I cannot force them to equip the items unique to your mod.
