On top of that, the lack of Anti-aliasing or Antistropic filtering makes it look jagged and edgy. If anything, go into your video card settings and jack AF up to 16x.
A good start for screen shots, I don't want to rate too harshly since these are amongst your first shots and since I'm very much a beginner at taking shots myself. A huge tip - I know you don't know this yet, but typing "tm" (without quotes) into the console will get rid of the menu on the bottom of the screen for when you take shots. A big help so you don't have to crop them out later, also helps if you just want to post a quick screen shot without taking it into Photoshop just to crop out the menu.
This is a nice shot, I like the angle. Your character stands out in the red robes, but the colors seem dull regardless. I'd bring up the contrast/brightness a little here as a major edit. I know you know your way around Photoshop, so I know that shouldn't be a problem for you. Other than that, it's a nice first shot. Hopefully soon we'll see more character shots in the future. Just don't forget to turn off the menus like I said - a lot of people bring down their ratings or just don't rate at all when they see them.
