I would set HDR on and just choose the right time of day, lighting conditions (sunlight or overcast) and angles to take screenshots.

With HDR, your characters skin looks more 'alive', and you can almost sense the mist out on the water.

You can't have AA and HDR on at the same time. (I heard there is a way to have both however with ATI cards).

I have two ATI tray tools profiles to launch Oblivion: one with AA and no HDR, and one with HDR and no AA.

HDR off is less bright and shows details in clothes and armor better (because of less glare).

HDR on, in the right light, looks more realistic, but can be too bright at certain times of the day in-game, or if you are close to light sources.

    I use both.

As far as I can tell, Bloom has a similar (but lesser) effect like HDR.

I have given this image my endorsement.

I am in the same boat here as Dagon... Which is better?

I have given this image my endorsement.

I've been wondering what's the best setting for my PC and like what you are doing here. It's hard to really see the differences without the images side by side though. Maybe you can cut a piece out of each image and compile them into one image so we can see the detailed deferences side by side.
