They're just touch-ups, which I'm sure you understand is a common practice for publicly distributed photos. Almost always just simple brightness/contrast tweaking or the occasional luminosity blended blur overlay to help mask HDR lighting defects outdoors and texture limitations. There's never any specificity tweaking or object insertion. This is all done in Paint.net, which is much less powerful than Photoshop, and is done in the name of perfectionism rather than any kind of dishonesty.
