      Thank you, Fredlaus.

      It still astonishes me...
As I think I've mentioned, Oblivion was not a game I initially liked; there was *a lot* that I found off-putting. Even when many great mods started to come out, I still wasn't entirely sold on it. In the last five or so years, though... it's like modders have taken all the final bits of Oblivion that needed love, and just smothered them in affection.
(Of course, having a much better computer tends to help as well.... )

So... I've come to genuinely appreciate Oblivion on its own merits... and with the way I've been able to make it look... when I wander about, especially in the forested areas, my jaw is constantly dropping at how gorgeous it is. I really think the trick, in terms of the game's visuals and atmosphere, is to amplify the lush vegetation that it shipped with... because there is just so much of it, and clearly the devs decided it was going to be a very verdant setting. Previously, the endless sea of green bothered me, in contrast to Morrowind's diverse landscapes. However... now because it all looks so stunning (and somewhat more varied)... I really do enjoy it.
Oh... and owing to the combination of my ENB (Cinematic Chic), Oblivion Reloaded, and All Natural... the lighting has that translucent, luminescent quality that was missing (in vanilla it tends to look flat and opaque).

The only parts remaining that I'd like to change, are the mountains (which look like badly pixelated bald hills.. up close they're just a complete eyesore), and the less than stellar voice acting. But, I can't see either of those ever happening, especially the latter, so I've just accepted them as part of the game... and even chuckle at the incredibly disjointed, nonsensical conversations between NPCs.
Though... I have turned down the voice volume a lot, which helps considerably!

Agreed, Hesinde. Sonja is an interesting novelist and treats all her gaming stuff with presence.
