Today I bought a GTX 980 Ti .. everything is fine except blender 2.49; as you can see the selection tool doesn't get refreshed on the screen and accumulates with moving the mouse; I've asked for help in a blender forum but I don't expect a solution .. sad
Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall Visual C++ ?
Maybe this also helps, Maybe you need Microsoft Net Framework 4 to run blender. http://blender.stackexchange.com/questions/7234/visual-c-runtime-error-2-69-startup-fresh-installation
do you have some screenies to show us how your new GC works
I've seen similar when I bought a 1070 where everything flickers between new and old frames. It's nothing to do with Python, and it's certainly not DirectX, C++ or NET as Blender uses none of those libraries; it's likely a discrepancy between how newer NVIDIA cards handle OpenGL and how Blender 2.49 handles OpenGL, particularly the framebuffer. There's options in the NVIDIA Control Panel for specific programs, you may need to add Blender to that list, and from there set its specific settings to use one of the alternate frame renders.
.. could you solve your problem ziitch? If yes could you pls post me a screen of your nvidia blender settings. I have the exact same problem as you described .. panel flickering .. especially while boneweight-copy
Thanks for your replies .. I'll see what I can do. The idea with an older driver version is good .. will keep that in mind. I've also added blender to my nvidia program settings .. fiddled around a bit but with no success. I'll give it another shot though.

I'm on a gtx 960 and while Blender runs fine, it has it's "moments" aswell, the menus becoming blurred out of nowhere is just one of them.
