What makes the shrubbery look so, huh, beveled? It adds neat detail in the thumbnail, but reminds me of Photoshop relief filters in the full view, perhaps 'cause the light edge is on the lower edge of darker leaves. Sorry for being curious, it's an occupational disease or something.
Thank you! Hee-hee, who would have thought that this little joke ( Oblivion Reloaded's snow accumulation on Elbethien's jungle ) would have to withstand such scrutiny . It is one of IrfanView's effects, 'Rock': As a layperson, I believe it's a noise filter, and adding some light from the upper right corner. I use it sometimes in very dark dungeons to get a bit of detail back. Then I ( sloppily ) lasso-selected the background as well as the branches reaching into the foreground in order to smooth the noise out of that part. And then I scaled the whole thing down, hoping no one would notice the bugs -- should have scaled down to thumbnail size!
Hehe, no need to. Half of my job is graphics stuff, I can't help but see such things.
I guess the filter took the plants, as they are darker than the snow, for "lower", and added the light to the lower left edges. Dunno how to do that with Irfanview otherwise ... its a great tool, but I only use it as viewer. Quick check: perhaps try "Unsharp Mask" for detail. Stupid name for a filter that actually sharpens the picture without adding as much noise as the default sharpener (but that's not IrfanView, the name is common).
Umm, with today's release of Oblivion Reloaded 2.0 and all that, I should add, that this is an old picture, probably dating from the times of OR 1.4 ( I read, that snow accu. has been improved ).
Thank you, Dennywood. I have made it back in winter, and thought I would upload it, when people start to show bikini girls on the beach. ( Well, they do it all year, really, more or less. )

Beautiful image, I am almost ready to come back to Oblivion...
We expect you back at zero.
