maybe the Nif importer/exporter become corrupted somehow...

What happens when you open up your mesh in nifskope ? Can you show me your 3DS Max Nif Exporter setting ? (the little window that pops up when you wan't to export a mesh to .nif format)

  in Nifskope its alright the mesh are still there....
  here is my Nif plugin setting :

Ah, that happened to me not long time ago. It's posted on a screenshot that i made. Here's a link. I also made a post in other forum, and i get work the mesh. http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/images/155457/?
